Reporting doesn’t work. I won’t name names since it’s against the TOS but there has been so much racism that goes unaddressed here.

As a night elf main for most of my WoW life, I’m starting to believe the tree should have been burned.

Oh, I’m sorry. Does that bother you? I’m simply starting to see more and more night elf forum posters that are obvious trolls, and much like male human paladins and blood elves, I’m starting to develop a distaste for them.

If you feel someone’s posting against the forum guidelines (trust me–that’s definitely part of it), flag the post for the moderation team.

Nah, Sylvanas just got fed up with the undead jokes and maggots eating her, so she decided to teach everyone a lesson by burning down Teldrassil then blighting Undercity.

Actually, reporting does “work.” I posted something which wasn’t meant to be “racist”, it was just an observation of something that happened in my area (was even very careful NOT to mention “race”.) However, I was suspended from the forums for “racial hatred” (it actually hurt MY feelings, that they labeled it that.)
Unlike our current President, I actually DO feel that I’m the most non-racist person you’ll ever meet.

So yeah, report and I would think something would happen? I mean, especially if it was really obvious racist stuff.

Blizz never tells you what action they’ve taken. That does not in any way mean they didn’t take any action. Report the posts. Report every racist or otherwise outside-the-guidelines post you see. The poster will get actioned.

The best moderation is the kind you never see, because the problem was handled appropriately. The poor moderation, heavy handed and usually reversed, is the one you see a lot of, because those actioned have legitimate complaints about such moderation.

That being said, someone actioned can easily create another account – since you clearly don’t need to be an active subscriber to post on these forums – and continue spewing their vitriol. How do you combat that without first fixing the loopholes that allow them to keep coming back?

There’s really bad racism in the game, too. I report people every time I see them using the N word and nothing ever happens to them. :woman_shrugging:

Stop trying to see racism where it doesn’t exist.

If you’re wanting to pretend that “Blaky” is somehow racist, I can understand why your reports are being ignored.

Crazy racism and sexism in chat. Not talking debatable stuff…straight up stuff that would get you kicked out of a store or restaurant if you said it out loud.
