Will Xpadder get me banned for 'multiboxing'

I don’t multibox, don’t care either way about the multibox bans.

I do however use Xpadder to play wow with an xbox controller. I also stream from my PC to my phone and play with a controller.

I also play on my GPD Win max and win 2, and use the built in controller rather than kb/mouse.

I’m concerned that, depending on how they plan to detect input software, I’ll end up banned for playing with a controller through Xpadder, since it turns button presses on the controller into mapped keybinds in game.

I play 1 character at a time, and press a button on the controller for every action in game.

Anybody have any thoughts?

You won’t get banned for that. Software that mirrors key strokes to multiple clients are banned.

I don’t mean to be a debbie downer, but I think this is best discussed with Blizzard staff. You should try explaining this to them. Maybe they may understand.

man after playing ff14 for a few months i really want to try this. cross hot bars got me addicted to playing with a controller.

I have asked blizz questions like this before through tickets and GMs. I have never gotten a definitive answer from anybody. Maybe they are afraid to give out misinformation? I always get a generic response regarding the issue and can’t get any details.

But he should get banned for not using a keyboard and a mouse on a PC game.

I typically do use a kb/m for everything.

Sometimes when not at home or not able to be at my computer I find a way to play.

ofc u r demon hunter , say yes it ban then dont do bc then u no get ban

I can’t play FF XIV without a controller, but the idea of playing WoW with one is strange to me.

Nope it won’t. There’s no input being funnelled to other WoW clients.

Controller support was/is coming in shadowlands.

And even before that we had addons that did this for us.

I don’t know how they will feel about xpadder, but i doubt you would get intro trouble for this.

also this

That’s because they need flex room to deal with players doing unintended things based off what they say :man_shrugging:

WoW has built in controller support now.

Welcome to 2020.

Wait, am I missing something? Controller support was added in the pre-patch. You can turn it on using:

/console GamePadEnable 1

There’s also a reddit guide that walks you through changing inputs and setting the configuration the way you want

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/jcnqr1/guide_to_the_new_gamepadcontroller_support_in_901/

And if you want to stream from PC to phone, I suggest using steam link. The app is free on play and ios store, and steam has built-in controller configuration for games.

The program can be picked up as a 3rd party program that can get you banned yes.

Well, the good news is that you’ll get a warning about it shortly after they officially update the terms of service if it is. In my opinion it is likely input broadcasting.

I don’t know if you’ve used the controller support in game, but I’m pretty sure its literally a joke the way they implemented it.

I like my keybinds, and i have a profile set up in xpadder for the same keybinds i use when im on a keyboard.

The first time I turned controller support on the keybinding was terrible and there literally wasn’t a way to switch back to regular kb/m keybinds. Then when there was, the only way to get it working was to completely reset all ur keybinds to default and reload then set them all up again. That may have been fixed i haven’t used it since.

And why should there be a guide that long to set up a controller? It takes 1 minute maybe to get set up in almost any third party controller mapping software, and you can just leave it running and its automatically picking up what you want when your ready.

Having tried to use the new in game controller option in beta I can honestly say it has about as much development time as the in game voice chat… which is to say it is terrible.

They couldn’t even bother to give it a UI option and you need a literal guide written by players to figure out how to set it up.

It’s a poorly developed user input option.

I just tried messing with it myself. it actually is pretty awful and not very intuitive. if they want it to be a serious feature it will definitely need a better UI and clearer key bind settings(they more than likely don’t care enough about this)but i can hope. i am absolutely addicted to XIVs cross hotbar setup with a PS4 controller.

i feel dirty…
Blizzard, you traitor!
Keyboard and mouse shall rule forever!
