Hey guys unfortunately i havent played wow back in the day and regret it alot… but i was wondering if anyone here thinks the game will ever go back to that state or close to it with this next expac i personally have high hopes for this upcoming expac… blizz has been listening (kind of) but i might be one of the few that think this
My wife’s leveling a character on TBC classic as we speak and enjoying it. You just have to get a full server.
But no, I don’t believe WoW will be like that again. These things don’t really go back. A company couldn’t take away what they’ve already given people. They have a core player base that enjoys what they enjoy now. They’ve already lost the others, why lose the ones they have too?
we don’t go back to that state , we look forward , the game will never be the same .
i think if TBC would release today with no background , it would flop hard , it’s all about nostalgia
Someone brought this up before, and I have now stolen it:
Part of the reason why classic and such were so epic was because back then you didnt have much online social interaction, so a giant game that you could play with tons of other people and talk with was amazing.
Also it had tons of customization and meaningful choices, so unless they go back to that sort of system in newer expansion and allow for more customization its hard to be as good as wraith was.
Considering I disliked Wrath, I don’t think we can use personal opinion as a metric for how good or bad the game feels.
Yeah let’s all go back to the annoyances of classic. Hunters having to feed their pets and wanding everything to death while leveling
See to me that sounds fun… i feel like the simpicity of the game is what made it good back then
are you playing Classic currently ?
You should try out , maybe you would dislike it
Context matters. Tbc was good for its time, but its methods will never fit in the retail version of the game.
Always possible. Its just very unlikely. Then again… Everyone has their opinions about each expansion and particulars of them, why they like it, why they don’t due to w/e. Though I never did TBC or WotLK but going through it on my free time or as I level, I…kind of hate it? Its not due to how barren it felt, or how aged it was but the experience is…not like what we have today.
If Blizzard can captivate players with actual story we can actually follow, not to be filled in by stupid books (Even though Shadowlands is a awful exception IMO). Add in actual stuff to do that doesn’t feel like a slog. Of course, we know that’s asking a lot…
So, can WoW ever be as good? Again, very possible but we can’t have high hopes until we see them improve again first.
i dont forsee that ever happening, I mean most of the minds that made this game and story so great in the first place are gone and who knows how many people they have working on the game now that have no true understanding of what the core of this game, what made this game great, was.
I don’t think so. The problem is that for a while now, different sets of players have wanted what are effectively entirely different games. The magnitude of the differences used to be small enough that a single game could serve most of these groups reasonably well, but that’s no longer true.
Yes i play classic and enjoy more than retail sometimes… have 2lvl 70s in p2 gear
No. The game is built for whales and the e-sport crowd. It’s designed to string players along in every aspect of the game. The quality of the game doesn’t matter. Fun is if no consequence. Micro-transactions are their bread and butter. They make more money from 1 million whales than they did from 10 million subs. That’s just how the game works now.
I don’t think it will go back, nor do I think that would make people happy.
What does that mean? Will it ever have as many subs as back then? No, probably not.
Legion was pretty fun though. I could see the game being fun again, Blizzard just needs to stop fighting back against players.
What does what mean? Title says will wow ever be good as wrath and tbc
Shadowlands had 7M-8M subs during launch
Yea but thats like 1% of players i feel like nobody cares about wow esports… they barely held 9k viewers when liquid was playing
Mop was much better than tbc, lol
