Will WoW be next in being available on Steam?

Overwatch 2 will soon be on Steam, will they follow this up with WoW? If they do, you will officially be able to play WoW on mobile thanks to the Steamdecks.

Just because it’s on Steam doesn’t mean it needs to have Steam Deck support.

I just contacted ion, he said probably maybe it’ll happen at some point in the future, and to wait for an announcement.

I mean SWTOR and FFXIV are on steam, so it wouldn’t surprise me if wow went there.

The real question is: am i re-buying wow just to have it on steam? Absolutely not.

Tbf, SWTOR’s a dying game that needs to consider every possible revenue stream it can.

Well, it wouldn’t be the worst deal for Blizzard to have WoW on Steam either, they have a pretty loyal fanbase that have had the game on their launcher since the 2000s, losing that 30% from Steam sales but getting new players hooked wouldn’t be the end of the world.

With that said you are probably right since I imagine Overwatch bled players due to PvE stuff, so it would make sense they would have it on Steam to gather some curious new players to check it out.

I can only just imagine WoW getting repeatedly review bombed until it has a mixed or mostly negative rating with most of the reviews being “woke moralists made me make out with gay centaurs, worst game EVER!” or “I had this one minor issue that inconvenienced me for 5 minutes and had an easy solution, so that’s an easy Do Not Recommend from me”.

I don’t see steam letting you get a free pass.

I understood the sarcasm with this one.

You can already play wow on a steam deck

Huh? What free pass? You lost me bud.

No. … Diablo will be there way before wow will.

I’m pretty sure all Steam is going to do is install the Blizzard downloader. It’s just like how the EA games show up, but you still need to run Origin.

Like another said just because a game is on steam does not me it’s supported by steam deck. Converse just because a game plays on steam deck does not mean it’s a good experience.
