Will Wotlk have dual spec?

In the original it was released in patch 3.1.0, but on the forums people are saying there might not be dual spec… can anyone concur?

I don’t think it’s been “officially confirmed” in stone yet, one way or the other. I think people are (rightfully) worried due to the decision to ditch LFD despite its incorporation in the original 3.3.5 systems patch (the version we are getting).

I can see them axing it but who knows, depends on what blizzard think will yield them more boost and server transfer $, as that is the root of all changes and decisions.

I mean, its not a huge deal paying the money and redoing the talents, but for convenience purposes it would be great to have 2 specs ready to go

They said it will be in, but are looking into restrictions.

They’re “allowing” it with “possible restrictions” which is just stupid.

The community should definitely fight against Dual Spec restrictions.

Actually they said they’ll probably allow it.

I really wish they’d just release Wrath like it was. They literally just have to do nothing and it’ll be a huge success.

The only official response so far is a Twitter post where they said they were looking at possible restrictions, as others said. Most likely either a CD, or only able to swap in rested areas.

I wouldn’t mind having Dual spec, so I can use Sub as my BG/Arena spec whenever I’m bored with PvE. Vice Versa with Combat for PvP.

Also, if they greatly reduced the price to change specs then I wouldn’t care for dual spec as much, 5g per change wouldn’t be as bad.

Or, put a cap on changing specs for free, have a daily timer or weekly on how many times you can change specs.

What do you all think?

No, pretty easy answer. Dual Spec as it was.

Hybrid specs become less attractive when dual spec is a thing… that’s what they are looking at.

Hybrid specs mostly aren’t a thing in wrath regardless, the end talents are too good.

I think that’s the point… a hybrid spec that was considered before gets eliminated when dual spec becomes an option. I think they WANT them…

All of the 1-2 that even work for anything?

It’s a silly notion, and something we as the community should be very vocally against. Changing dual spec is not ok.

It’s my belief that WotLK especially when everyone gets Naxx+ raid gear becomes a AOE crap fest and skill and rotation goes out the window for most dungeons. Just spam a powerful AOE and rinse and repeat. Tanks could be more DPS focused instead of having a tank spec and a DPS spec. For example… Less gear required that way too.

except no one builds their spec around dungeons.

These PUGs that beg for LFD do… explicitly

I’m pro lfd, all my specs will be raid based.

Then you my friend… are not one of them.

Removing or changing dual specs ruins a very core part of raiding in Wrath, being the guilds swing tank/healer, it’s a fun role for those who like it.

Blizzard imagines that players like yourself can fall back on a reliable guild.
