Will we work with N’Zoth? *SPOILERS!*

Blizzard seem to have hinted that N’zoth is testing us for something.

He is definitely not on our side, but he mentions something growing “… Bolder, hungrier…”

He even says ”Only I can save you, from what is to come”

“She will bring only ruin”

”The fall of night will reveal her true face”

I would think he would try to kill the strongest champions of Azeroth outright instead of tricking us to serve him, unless there is something we are not seeing.

There is something else out there that he is afraid of as well…

And who is the “she N’zoth is referring to?

I do not think it is Xal’atath, as he was the one to free her…

Could it be elune, or even Azeroth itself?

The lovecraftion being ”Azathoth” is definitely similar to ”Azeroth”… and Azathoth is the most powerful of all the gods in lovecraftion lore, much like Azeroth is in our lore…?

That reminds me more of the Elune/Tyrande/Night Warrior story. But maybe that’s just me. Personally, I don’t know where they are going with that story arc but it seems to convey a fundamental change for Elune.

Yea, I was definitely thinking the same thing.

I know blizzard is going to pull a plot twist somewhere soon, It just has so many directions it can go!

There’s only one way to know, does he give us purples?

Purple tentacles I suppose, if you’re into that sort of thing.

On to the topic at hand, whenever we deal with these sort of Old God whispers and (her), whether its talking about Elune, Tyrande, Alleria, Azeroth, Helya, or Sylvanas … those debates can just go in infinite circles (and largely are defined by player preference, more than anything else). N’zoth also doesn’t mention what he’d be saving us from … and we’ve seen how his version of “salvation” works.

If I had to hazard a guess on “who” the “SHE” is he’s referring to, its probably the very same person Ogmot discusses in his dream-journal.

“Today the smoke rose from my campfire and took form.”

“A shepherd, cloaked in the shadows of her past, beloved by a flock of blind sheep.”

“She guided them over a cliff. Even as they crashed upon the rocks, they never doubted her.”

“The crows grew fat upon sheep flesh. Her laughter echoed all around.”

It is also possible that the “SHE” being referred to also ties into Varimathras’ quotes in Antorus, to both the Alliance and Horde (but less likely):

“So, your Alliance still endures. Longer than I expected, though she has already planted the seeds of its downfall. She is patient, that one.”

“Tell me, when she seized your throne of hides and bones, was your allegiance forced? No… I’d wager you surrendered it willingly… or were convinced you did.”

“Better that you died here, where she cannot claim you.”

“Death… claims… us all.”

Every one of ya that align with N;Zoth should be purged. If WoW teaches you anything, it should be listening to those whispers in your head is probably a bad thing.

Plot twist at the end Nzoths goal all along was to stop sylvanas, and at the end of her raid he heroicly sacrifices himself to kill her forever.

I’m def keeping Nzoth’s gift to see if any important NPCs start popping up with it.

Making Tyrande or Elune evil will be the final nail in the coffin for the Kaldorei.

Azathoth is the blind idiot God. Azathoth (ideally) sleeps for all eternity and since reality itself is its dream, if/when it awakes we all cease to exist in the blink of an eye. Now obviously Azeroth isn’t an Old God, but it is possible that when Titans are born they simply absorb/annihilate the organisms on their surface.

Perhaps N’zoth seeks to spare us from this fate. Since matured Titans are immune to the Void, obviously he’d want to keep her from being born until he can assure she’s arise as a Dark Titan.

I wonder if Azeroth is really more than a titan.

We know she has the power to stop the void lords, and is the most powerful thing there is as of right now…

She is still ”sleeping” in a way…

What if N’zoth is simply trying to keep her asleep for the same reasons the outer gods keep Azathoth asleep?

In what form would Sylvanas become a threat strong enough to require the sacrifice of N’Zoth? Would she merge with Azeroth?

She would steal all of Jaina’s Human Potential
