Will we see Allied Races in SL?

I like the idea of more, it was fun to get the others. My concern is they keep saying they don’t have the resources to even customize current characters. I wouldn’t think it would be too hard, there are a lot of toon copies already. The Nightfae are basically draeni and the Venthyr are Nightbourn. I am sure there are others I am missing but it never hurts to give us something else to strive for.

They already gave up on more customization. I’m sure they gave up on more allied races before that.

There’s not any indication that they plan on adding any new races. When BforA came out, there was all this hidden data showing Vulperans in all the various armor parts etc, far more than was needed for just their NPCs appearances. It wasn’t hard to speculate that they would be added as a race. I’ve seen nothing like that with Shadowlands.

The Developers from Blizzard said they’re open to it, but if we do get any it won’t be at the start of Shadowlands. So we could get them. People love the Covenant Races, and there no lore against it. It’s just a matter of time.

They said AR concept doesn’t fit the beginning of the story in Shadowlands. Which I would agree with.

But is also somewhat hints the back half of the expansion may be shifting to a different setting.

I sure hope not.

As a whole, the allied race experiment was lackluster. They would have been better off providing customization options to existing races.

Instead they wasted time developing “starting zones” with no content and races with limited customizations…not to mention, some really bad racial abilities.

Besides Stanikos, I don’t see a reason for any of these beings to travel onto Azeroth.

The answer is a hard no.

I think at one point it was brought up that these are not mortal beings, so there’s no logical reason they would join mortal races into the future. All denizens of SL will stay in SL.

On a RL note, apparently Blizzard is incapable or unwilling to chew and walk at the same time.
Legacy content is abandoned, almost on purpose, despite all the things wrong with it. Transmog, customizations, heritage armor, Class Raid Tier sets and visual improvements are now held hostage to then release as “features” of “new” content in patch and expansion releases.

So no. Don’t expect any Allied Races anytime soon.

no, we will not

Nobody tells me where I can or can’t go…nobody…except maybe the Winter Queen…

Crabsolutely not, we’re not even getting hairstyles, which were promised as a selling feature.

They quietly axed archaeology and brawler’s guild. Professions are a joke.

This one hurt me. I was almost expecting a ghost-looking Bruce this expansion. And then, nothing. :frowning:

I understand the logic of just dropping archaeology for this expansion (its eternal and afterlife, there’s no history or archaeology to dig up).

But there’s not really any justification for any of the trade skills. We’re killing supernatural spirit animals for skins?? We’re digging up the ground of Bastion for ore? None of it makes sense in the setting.

What they should have done is have you collect anima and other things that are then combined with ore and plants and pelts etc from the world of azeroth to make new things with. Anima + Cricket Song from Ardenweald + Tin = Spirit Tin, used to make new engineering devices!

Lore wise that would be absolutely cool, but irl game-numbers wise people would throw a fit. Players don’t like being forced to farm old content if that’s not what they want to do, and it would feel backwards, auctionhouse-wise.

Tbf. Brawler’s Guild was an 8.1.5 feature in BfA. So unless there was something I missed from the Q&A, it probably wasn’t going to be a part of 9.1 or announced at BlizzCon anyway.

" will we see the next patch "

Is the better question

What are you talking about?

The Brawler’s Guild has been around since Mist of Pandaria. Patch 5.1 to be exact.

If you meant the particular “patch cycle”, then perhaps we’ll see later, but seeing as it was never even mentioned as an expansion feature, I count on it not happening at all this expansion.

Brawl has seasons, he’s talking about when it was re-implemented in its latest version.

They still haven’t done the core sets they promised last expansion. You think they doing more allied races?
Nope

This frustrates me, because there is so much outdated content that needs updating

  • cooking impossible brawl rewards BFA food
  • trial of style has had no updates for years
  • brawler’s guild needs an update
  • the Nazjatar stamina food from 3 patches ago gives more stam that the highest shadowlands stam food
  • no archaeology
  • crafted profession items that aren’t legendary are left in the dust. The highest alchemy stone ilvl is 165, lower than HEROIC gear.
  • many of the major seasonal holidays have had no updates other than a hearthstone animation
  • visual bugs for races and old gear. Nightborne models are unfinished. The princess hat in shadowlands makes you bald.
