Assuming there will be a TBC pre-patch like there was in 2021, will we have the option to clone our Anniversary characters to Era servers?

Era players seem to be against this. They see it as disruptive to their experience.

Obviously I can only speak for myself but as an Era player I’d love to see transfers in from anniversary.
I havent done a scientific survey or anything but friends ive spoken with about it feel the same way - more players on Era is good!

i mean, i guess they can transfer you to some entirely new and unconnected era servers. but please be aware there is no doll speck in era.

classic era doesn’t really need more players though we have a good amount already, and any newcomers should have to level from 1-60 to get invested in the community imo.

MMO’s thrive on active communities. More players enhances your experience too.
Anniversary players love the exact same game you do. The majority of them are ERA players already… If their gold was capped on transfer and they weren’t allowed to bring in changes like Dual Spec… you being against their migration is just weird tribalism at that point.
I think at this point, if you want to play on era, you should level 1-60 on era that’s what I’m doing.

new “gdkp ban” era server should be released and transfer there.

Quality > quantity.
With that said, the toxic Sweatlords would probably just progress to TBC anyway.
But there’s no reason to think this will even be an option.

No they aren’t. We’d welcome fresh transfers. Some people playing fresh are Era players who are counting on an Era transfer.

They literally did that though. There is zero rational reason to not allow fresh to Era transfers. You’re just being an irrational contrarian.
Not gonna lie, I would be SO stoked for this. I’m playing the Anniversary server purely because some IRL friends started playing again and decided to play there, but I would personally love to be able to keep my new Warrior strictly in Vanilla. Or even better, the option to “clone” them just like before.
Obviously, we’d lose out on the dual-spec aspect, but otherwise it shouldn’t have any sort of advantage over the regular Classic servers, right?

The obvious thing Blizzard should’ve done is to have a rotation of vanilla, TBC, and Wrath with people able to transfer their toons to Era servers at the start of each new cycle. There should’ve been era servers for each of the three versions of the game. Don’t limit the cloning. If someone wanted to clone their 60 to vanilla era and then play TBC, then later clone their 70 to TBC and continue to play Wrath then that should’ve been the option. The effort they wasted on SoD and SoM should’ve been put forward to this rotational system.
