So far Khadgar only have met Turalyon and Alleria but not the other Two like Danath and Kurdran. Will we ever get to see a Union of the Sons of Lothar being together as One? I haven’t seen Kurdran done anything for a long time since TBC and BFA would have been a Great Time for Old Alliance Heroes of Warcraft 2 to be on the Frontlines.
But instead One which is Khadgar just left to return back to Karazhan to help the World if there is a World saving that is, One which is Kurdran who has never been seen since Outlands, Other 2 like Turalyon and Danath are just Warfront Commander Props and as for Alleria just basically a Prop on a Boat doing nothing while the Blueberry Smurf Mage gets all the Screentime.
So much for Warcraft 2 Lore Characters doing something Great within BFA…
The majority of Alliance WC2 characters are still alive and active, to various degrees, in the story, including every one of the Sons of Lothar. If they were all prominent, no one else would get any screen time at all.
Again, almost every major Alliance character from WC2 is still around and still given some story. I’ll let you go count all the surviving Horde characters.
Edit: this is why I hate “bias” posts. The OP has a complaint about WC2 characters being underused. Fair enough. But adding the “bias” complaint does nothing to advance that particular point, and in fact makes it much more difficult to take him seriously.
As for OP, yeah, it’s pretty disappointing but I was surprised we even got the brief reunion between Turalyon, Alleria, and their son in Legion, let alone getting the Sons of Lothar band back together.
Memories of Warcraft 2…
“You think Lothar’s death was my fault, don’t you?!” ~Turalyon
The fact that you two have basically the same picture is really throwing me for a loop. I thought Wallurian was having a schizophrenic episode or something.
I thought the main theme of WoW is going forward, not going back. IMO the Sons of Lothar need to die so we can build up a new fan favorite base of Alliance characters. Rogers needs to do something instead of being a glorified taxi driver.
Id like to see any aknowledgement of lothar in game. For being such an important figure to the alliance its kind of remarkable how little alliance players actually see anything about him. Or what the sons of lothar are named that in the first place.
As nice as it might seem to see them again, I feel like Legion was the perfect time thematically to bring back familiar faces from Outland for a last hurrah, both from the Sons of Lothar and the Horde’s forces under Nazgrel. Honestly A’dal’s naaru should have been involved in the final battle against the Legion too.
But since the Alliance and Horde as factions sat out most of Legion’s primary story after the Broken Shore and it was decided that showcasing a new cosmetic toy race for BfA (Lightforged) and superpowering Turalyon and Alleria was more pertinent than continuing the story of the Army of the Light as begun in TBC, those opportunities were missed.
At this point the Sons of Lothar and other such callbacks to TBC would feel out of place, being either jammed sideways into a Void conflict or somesuch struggle they never had anything to do with before or wasted as named NPC’s in some corner of a pointless faction war.
They’re also supposed to mostly be aged people (see the select and limited range of features used specifically for Honor Hold’s guard NPC’s; they’re deliberately made to appear old, or rather as old as the in-game models allow NPC’s to look anyway) so I suppose that’s kind of a built-in excuse for omitting them. Dwarves and elves aside, most of the Sons of Lothar might just be presumed too old and tired to fight in any more wars.
i think that is time to close all the character arcs from the legends of wc2 and wc3.
So if they give us a reunion i hope that is the last time they use those characters (particularly humans)
alleria really should participate more and not being afk in the boat.
i think that their ending was fine. all parties already moved on. no need to create an unnecesary melodrama.
They really have better things to worry about.
also… alleria is not a human and neither arathor…who is meeting his parents for the first time.
If I remember correctly Tyrande is right next to Illidan after the Nighthold raid but they don’t interact at all like if they didn’t knew each others. I don’t think it was on purpose, it was just out of lazyness. The Illidan quest was probably added because of the complaints.
oh right, i forgot about that.
yeah… that was particularly weird because basically illidan did it all for her.
there is no excuse for blizzard to not make tyrande say at least some dialogue.
I don’t understand complaints about Umbric being used in the story in lieu of Alleria. He’s a Void Elf, and their racial leader, such as they have one. She’s a High Elf who happens to have Void powers, that’s helping them out. Her story isn’t always going to be the same as their story.
It’s like complaining Liadrin isn’t the public face of the Nightborne story.
