I’m not expecting them any time soon with the release of the Dracthyr, but do you guys think we’ll ever get any in the future? It feels like this feature has been pretty under-utilized since BFA, and is great motivation to grind out rep and such (certainly a lot better than some of the other cosmetic rewards imo). On that note, if we did get new allied races, what ones would you guys want to see?
Personally, I really hope we get Tuskarr in Dragonflight, I’ve been wanting to play one since WOTLK.

One important thing to understand about Allied races is that they all re-use an existing character model, just with different cosmetic art. Some obvious like HM Tauren over Tauren, some less so (Vulpera are furry Goblins and Kultirans are shaved down Pandas). This is because one of the most expensive things to develop is an entirely new shape to hang all the game’s vast stockpiles of armour on.
So any further ARs we get will need to be the same shape as an existing race, or they aren’t worth the development cost. A totally new shape race like the Dracthyr can be justified by being a main selling point of an expansion, but not for what is essentially a cosmetic reward.

I’m still waiting for the Worgen and Forsaken Allied Races. There’s a conspicuous gap in the character creation screen where they’re SUPPOSED to go.
I’m still calling for Night Elf Worgen, and Lightforged Forsaken.

couldnt care less. just add more through customization(which the majority should have been) and add new body types, postures, etc to the already bloated race selection we currently have
it really doesnt make sense for any of the races not already with a faction to join the faction war. it was really a bfa feature but they did say if it DOES makes sense in the future it could happen

Drakthyr, in my opinion, looks like it was a reskin of Worgen.

I am sure they will in time, however, one of the issues is racials. They can’t just keep adding new allied races and come up with new racials especially since the Alliance get the short end of the stick on those.
IMO, they need to revamp the whole racial system and make it based on spec (dps, heals or tank) and have everyone have the same off that. I know racials have been unique and fun but imo the time has come to remove that so everyone is on fair ground and this would open up more opportunities for more allied races.

Personally I thought we’d be getting Tuskarr, they got completely overhauled, finally added a female model, unique shaman totems… but maybe one day

I have wanted undead Paladin since Vanilla (don’t care what you say about lore), so I will settle for LF Forsaken if it gets me that undead Paladin.

The Forsaken won’t get a good offer as it’s either the Lightforged Undead or Leper Gnomes.
Noble undead that follow beside Calia or smaller sinister Forsaken.
