WIll trying to raid on a RP server be difficult?

I’m concerned the RP server will be underpopulated and many of the people on the server will not be going for high end raiding. Anyone else think this will be an issue? I just don’t want to get to level 60 then be capped at trying to find a MC group.

How many role play servers are there? It depends on what’s your standard for raiding. I doubt you’ll see many Naxx groups.

I think that people who create characters on a role-playing realm understand the concept of a role-playing game. They don’t play it to “get gear.” They don’t play to be “world first.”

They understand that video games are “casual,” and to be enjoyed.

There will be plenty of raiders on RP realms, but they won’t have the same attitude that “hardcore” raiders do.

RPers raid, in my experience. Though if your goal is primarily raiding, sticking with a normal PvE server is probably going to be your safer bet. You’re guaranteed to find high end raiding on there, whereas an RP server it will not be priority for everyone.

I doubt RP servers will be underpopulated. I would avoid raids where there’s a lot of chat dueling, though, because those are the kind of people that don’t care about actual mechanics.

You have to distinguish two kinds of players on those realms.

  • People who actively RP.
  • People who play on RP servers.

A lot of people sign up on RP realms because the people there just tend to be nicer folks; they have zero interest in RPing.

I dont think this is an issue overall. The issue you may find is that they may be more progression guilds instead of Speed Running Min/Max guilds. The fact there are only 2 and one of each type leads me to say they will be populated enough.

There will be normal people playing on the RP servers for various reasons so you can expect there to be non RP guilds just looking for a more mature overall server in some cases.

If you plan to hardcore-semihardcore raid just go with a high pop PvE server and sleep well in that decision. If you plan to hardcore-semihardcore Rated PvP go with a high pop PvP server.

People raid on RP servers. They just might progress more slowly than on Normal and PVP servers.

TBH I think the populations on the RP servers are going to be the most stable. And where there are people, there will be a wide variety of interests.

I play on RP servers because I used to RP and while I don’t anymore, I find the atmosphere to be far more relaxed than PvE and PvP realms. I’m probably going to create a progression style guild on Buccaneer Horde that welcomes people who do primarily RP but still want to see the raids if they want to.
