Will they use old toon models or the updated ones?

Ok, that’s what I assumed. So it makes perfect sense then that they don’t do it because its expensive to hold the “gold standard” that they want with their games.

It’d be awesome to see new spell graphics w/ Vanilla WoW.
But it’d be better to have bad graphics going on - that way you can have massive battles with a huge FPS drop.

the new models are so Ugly and the new spell effect are so over the top, makes it feel like playing my little pony with sparkles everywhere.

you do know that is all up to your own computer and what it can handle?

not the wow server, as all graphics are client side, if your FPS is dropping because of visuals it’s because your computer sucks or there is 1000 people on your screen

Most likely offer the old models just like they did on the demo.

Problem was the “toggle” option ruined the old models in warlords of draenor, the old tauren faces didn’t display properly, the night elf walking animation was still changed, it wasn’t the true old models.

And yet, Blizzard was unable to ever get the toggle to work and they eventually removed the toggle.

Maybe you should apply to Blizzard with a promise that you can fix all of their “toggle issues” since you seem to think it is so easy to do so.

Then you should have no problem with the old graphics being the default setting.

Why do you seem so unwilling to accept that the old graphics be the default setting, especially when you claim that it makes no difference?

To be fair, they do actually have a valid point.

The reason it was such a big problem in retail is because they wanted to add new animations, and the whole situation was handled by simply putting the old model on the new rig so they didn’t double up on the animation work they needed to do.

However that’s not going to come up in Classic because they’re not developing new content for it. No new spells that need animations, and the new model just uses the old animations that they already have built into their rig when they did the rework back in WoD.

Naturally the old models should be 100% no matter what(and that’s what I plan on using regardless), but unless Blizzard has done something really weird with their models it should actually work in Classic.

That said, I still think people looking for updated visuals will be disappointed even if they get new models by the fact that everything else in the world will be 2004 graphics.

Even in retail they haven’t updated a significant chunk of that era. You can go through the transmog for tier sets and see differences in pretty much every expansion.

That may be.

All we know for sure, though, is that Blizzard could not get the toggle to work and eventually removed the toggle.

Having said that, as long as the old models are the default, I have no major objection to a toggle.

THE TOGGLE WORKED

stop spreading misinformation

what failed was the cry babies were mad about the NEW RIG on the OLD MODELS (cause omg my crappy old something up my butt human male run animation is gone!!!) Also slight texture placement changes because the models were not close enough to use same rig.

the toggle did work and can work perfectly for these cry babies in classic wow as NONE of the new class animations will be used the old rig lacks, and even then they could make it work if they spent time if they wanted to incorporate the class animations for new models only.
(it’s not hard to code this to work and it doesn’t matter as all graphics/animations are client side ONLY, however most just want the model only which is quick and easy)

He will never, ever stop lying and spreading misinformation. He’s currently actively lying in two different threads.

It worked so well that Blizzard removed it.

Riiiiight!!!

As I said, though, as long as the old models are the default, I have no major objection to a toggle.

you don;t even understand the problem

There was never a problem with the toggle, and a default setting literally means nothing if there is a toggle.

the problem was people rioted at blizzard about old models with new rig, so rather then deal with the cry babies they scrapped it altogether as it was more hassle then it was worth.

Because classic wow does not use currently any of the new ANIMATIONS that the old rig lacks.

a toggle with OLD MODEL WITH OLD RIG and NEW MODEL WITH NEW RIG WORKS PERFECTLY FOR CLASSIC.

private servers have this as a option or you can even manually install the files your self and new models work perfectly because they have the same file structure and naming except the new models have additional stuff. which will not be used unless creative coding is placed to make them usable, which i am all for, but it would take time that is not really worth it imo for release

Did Blizzard remove the toggle, even though you claim it functioned perfectly? YES or NO?

Would you have a problem with the old graphics/models being the default if Blizzard chose to spend the time and resources to add a graphics/model toggle to Classic? YES or NO?

THE TOGGLE WORKED 100%

what failed to the cry babies was the NEW RIG ON THE OLD MODELS
(which has nothing to do with a toggle/option selection)

how many effing times do i need to explain this to you?

and THE DEFAULT SETTING I don’t give a crap about because it literally means nothing on how something works, it is literally just pre-selected options.

Dodging the question is not even close to answering it.

It is a “YES” or “NO” question. It really IS that simple.

Did Blizzard remove the toggle, even though you claim it functioned perfectly? YES or NO?

We all know that you admit that you just want the toggle.

i answered you…god your reading comprehension sucks…

I DON’T CARE WHAT IS DEFAULT

THE TOGGLE WORKED, the new rig on old model failed for the whiners
(which was why it was removed, there was no pleasing them and they were not going to waste development on the old rig)

There have been plenty of things over the years that have functioned perfectly and have been removed from World of Warcraft.

Please cite your sources for your continued claims that the toggle didn’t function properly and that was the reason for it’s removal.

Again you dodge the question and refuse to provide a “YES” or “NO” answer.

Screaming and yelling to us all that it worked “perfectly” except for the “whiners” in order to try to garner support for your desire for a toggle is hardly a “YES” or “NO” answer to a “YES” or “NO” question.

Did Blizzard remove the toggle, even though you claim it functioned perfectly? YES or NO?
