Will they attempt to purge the Shadowlands storyline?

Dragon Flight doesn’t run from Shadow Lands as one might have expected. It sort of leans into it. As pointed out, this current World Tree/Emerald Dream storyline is heavily involved with the shadow lands.

There’s minor references, as well. The world bosses in Zalarak Caverns mention the arena in Maldraxxus on death. How on earth they’d know about that is anyone’s guess.

I admire the team for not running away from their often maligned story. You shouldn’t erase the past, carry it forward and hopefully elivate it retroactively with better connected content.

Shadowlands had potential of being great, it could have branched in through Garrosh ,Arthas and many more in depth but we got nothing . Afterlife just sucks

If they were going to do that they wouldn’t have added the flavor book in Uldaman with Odyn’s memos to the Keepers stating not to confuse mortals with facts about The First Ones and Zereth Ordus etc.

Unfortunately not. They had a chance to make all of shadowlands a nzoth dream and fix things but then doubled down on shadowlands stuff this patch.

Question is, so what? If there is one thing that has been a consistent part of human existance is that we are continually solving one mystery of life after another.

I remember when I was a kid my mother had an old set of encyclopedias from around 1900. I looked up the Sun to see what they were thinking back then about how it worked. They didn’t know, it was a mystery. Then a decade later along came Albert Einstein who spoiled the mystery. It was nuclear fusion producing energy at mass times the square of the speed of light. Another mystery solved.

If they at least retconned the retcons (the Jailer was behind everything bad to ever happen! Burning Legion? Jailer! Helm of Domination and the Scourge? Jailer!) that would make it much more tolerable.

I’d also like them to undo Sylvanas being the biggest moron in Warcraft history, but I think it’s far too late for her.
