Will there ever be name changes

Caught the tbc bug, would love to finish my lvl 50 but can’t get past her name. Char was made at launch when I played with ppl who knew me as such.

Unless there is some temporary thing at TBC transition I would doubt it. Paid name, race and faction changes came with wrath.

Damn I named my druid Rocksalot too because I wanted to jump in and start playing. I thought we could change them now!

Mass reporting works. I know people who have gotten name changes that way, but I only play on RP servers and in most cases the mass reports are for violating RP name rules, don’t know if it works on non-RP servers.

Preeeeeetty sure name change was made available in TBC. You sounded so confident though.

this, mass report saying it’s offensive will usually let you get a rename

or if you are truly desperate just transfer servers and make sure you have an alt on that server with your current name, it will flag your name for rename

Could always just server transfer.

You keep your name unless someone took it on the server your are transferring to. So either you have to make an alt on said server with the name you want changed or someone has your name on that server.

I figured that part was obvious.

Tbh i see absolutely no reason why they won’t let us have them in tbc. It’s basically free money for them.

I suppose it just depends on how/if they plan on doing patch progression. But yeah, paid name changes came out during TBC, so I don’t see why not either.

not ideal but open up a different server, make a new char with your current name, xfer to that server
mass reporting doesnt always work

I think there may be one additional way: Delete that character. Create a new character with that name. Wait 90 days. Restore that character.

I don’t see why they don’t let us do it regardless of how they launch it… like I said its free money… and do you really think blizzards gonna turn their noses up at free money?

Sure. In some cases, absolutely. I doubt they will have race changes or tokens.

Well, if they followed patch progression, then it would become available when the patch that made it available became available. But, I don’t really have any reason to believe that that’s the way they’re going to go.

If someone said anything about tokens i missed it. They should never include tokens. Race change and faction change i can totally see though. Tokens are a whole other can of worms that actually effect the game.

I suppose faction change might be possible, since both factions will have access to the same classes. However, it also wouldn’t be authentic to The Burning Crusade, since faction changes weren’t a thing then.

I just did. It’s free money for Blizzard, but something they haven’t included in Classic, and my guess is that for the same reason (i.e. it wasn’t available during Vanilla), they won’t be introducing them for TBC Classic.

Why did you name your character that way? These are things you need to work out with your self.

As for Name Changes, that was a TBC feature so maybe?

It wouldn’t be authentic sure… but its free money for blizzard and doesn’t really matter if it was authentic or not. They 100% changed some things in classic that weren’t authentic to classic. This doesn’t effect the game at all. I have a 60 troll priest i’d like to move to alliance since I went back to my home on the alliance. I 100% understand if they don’t and won’t complain if they don’t. I’m just saying I can see them doing it because of how much money they can make from it and how little it will mess with the game.

Tokens will really mess with the economy. People like me who have all the time to play and tons of disposable income will destroy the economy. I’m not trying to brag… just using myself as an example. When tokens came out in retail I bought as many as I could and sold them all. I really don’t think they’d include tokens in TBC though.

I don’t think so either. I’m personally not a fan of tokens, but I also don’t have a great answer to prevent people from buying third party services and giving up access to their accounts.

I don’t personally care if they offer faction transfers or not in TBC Classic, but they haven’t offered name (or appearance) changes in WoW Classic. Not sure that that is an indication of what they may offer in TBC Classic or not, but maybe it’s something.

Not sure how much of an issue it might be, but I could see a lot of Alliance Ret Paladins transferring to Belves.
