Will there ever be a fresh classic?

In fact. I would play a FRESH Pre-Alpha or Alpha WoW, if Blizz find the client in their archives

i wonder why they removed dwarf mage from there… #NoChange crowd isn’t really right with their NoChange desire → #Alpha WoW was their before 1.12

I was solid nochanges back before 2019 classic, but in all honesty, even if the client was 1:1 the 1.12 client, it still wouldn’t be a perfect emulation. The community has changed too much and the game is completely solved.

I’m fine with Dual spec, I’m in favor of the honor system changes (it was NEVER about skill, just purely about how much of your life you were willing to give up for the game or, more realistically, how many people you could pay or network to keep the grind going), and I’d even be fine with loot drop increases to compensate for the faster timeline.

I am against class balance changes, but that’s mainly because I’d rather that can of worms stay firmly shut.

In original vanilla there wasn’t even PvP gear for several patches. So you are wrong.

I think this is a good argument to create a classic+, but if such a dynamic makes somebody lose interest in classic wow, they should simply just not play classic wow. Because plenty of people would still love it as is.

I also don’t think it’s a matter of no changes versus changes either. Quality of life changes that don’t affect how the game is played on a fundamental level are fine. It just has to be scrutinized whether a quality of life change does shift how somebody engages with the game. A lot of things may seem innocuous but they aren’t.

1.12 is the most nerfed down and easiest version of Classic. I know you are being sarcastic but I actually agree with your post non-sarcastically LOL.

Pretty much in the same boat as you.

Only class change would be glaring omissions like Prot Paladin Taunt or an out of combat Druid resurrect.

But since they seem to be fast forwarding Classic and going to TBC as quick as possible on Anniversary it’s really not that big of a deal.

As a fan of the changes to anniversary servers and someone who’s agreed with and asked for additional changes, I support the idea of a 2019-style fresh server that never progresses into TBC. A fresh Era realm (maybe even more “pure” than what we got in 2019, #SpellBatching). I’ll continue to be critical of Blizz for not giving you folks these severs despite the fact that I have little interest in playing on them. The Vanilla Purists deserve a home with fresh experiences and they haven’t gotten one since 2019.

Sincerely,
A #SomeChanges spewing, dewl speck loving, #MoreChanges asking, game experience ruining Original Trilogy Lover.

Eyr youve never been higher than rank 5 in your life.

stop typing

Eyr is going for the record for longest time posting on forums without playing the game, my guess is they haven’t actually played since AQ patch of 2019 classic

I doubt it unfortunately, if classic has proven anything to us it’s that blizz can take us back to 1.12 but the playerbase and how we play is anything but 1.12.

:owl:

No. The game is colonized by people who don’t like original vanilla and want everything handed to them.

I played throughout all of 2019, SoM, Era for a few years, and now fresh. Ranked two seperate times on the old system.

The new system is worse in many ways. They threw the baby out with the bathwater and now they took one of the most social and player led aspects of vanilla WoW and turned it into a mindless fill-the-bar grind.

Sorry you don’t get to run a ranking mafia anymore, fresh is for everyone not just gatekeepers

They tried this with Classic the first time, though the timeline was still accelerated from the original. It drove people off of the game and lead to horrendously unbalanced “PVP” servers because people xferred to get away from PVP on a PVP server.

There’s a few sides to WoW PVP servers.
People that are there because they just like wPVP.
People that are there because they find PVE servers boring due to the lack of wPVP even if they don’t engage with it.
People that are there because there’s a perception that the best players are on PVP servers(something that was true in Vanilla but not true with Classic).
People that like the idea of a PVP server but hate PVP outside of BGs and should really be on PVE servers.
The smallest population are the megasweats that form 40 man raids to sweep through every 45-60 zone scouring it of any player worth honor.

I think it’d be fun to go through the character balancing we had in Vanilla, including the weird talent trees that some classes had. ie: Druids having Innervate as the 31pt resto talent.

I totally understand that… but there was reasons they had to undo it

On my server around AQ time we were botting 20,000 in the pool weekly.

The level of botting that was created thanks to old ranking ensured it would never come back.

Ever.

Tens of thousands of bots a week killing a level 5 night elf in durotar giving everyone b1 or b2 slots.

only people who cry about “gatekeepers” are people who just aren’t good enough :expressionless: them’s the facts

There is no such thing as a ranking mafia. This is an extremely misinformed opinion. Bracket organization is so everyone gets their rank in the fastest time possible.
