Actually agree on that, rampant affliction’s nerf killed the multi UA gameplay but i fear even with it being reverted the entire rot playstyle isn’t as effective these days since most specs are now pad/bleeds builds.
So that niche itself is lacking especially since hellcaller has 0 burst or priority targeting unlike soul harvester.
Yeah and a buff to wither could help with that kill potential along with the removal of rampant afflictions and it just being baseline w/o the 60% damage nerf.
As much as i would love a buff to hellcaller ( which i think it deserves), buffing dots isn’t really going to help with priority targetting, all it will do is increase our pad damage.
I think thats more in the right direction, but likely too strong.
I think bear form frenzy is another tuning knob as well, but you gotta be careful with that as well so they dont just become immortal livelords that can survive every go by pressing frenzy.
You mean like most of the casters?
If you have to give up damage to survive that alone should skew the survivability knob much higher than defensives without downsides.
Probably could find better words to explain my point but hopefully u understand what i mean.

Nah, that was super clear imo.
My understanding of that was that it’s okay to make a defensive like bear form stronger given that it effectively silences you for its duration and takes a global to form shift, a global to activate, 4s of afk, and then a global to shift back to moonkin form… all for 20% hp (before mortal strike effects).
It’s not something like bubble where you can use it defensively AND offensively, so it’s okay to make the defensive component stronger; that was your point, yeah?
Exactly. And imo defensives that function this way are much harder to balance.
If bear is tanky enough it becomes an on demand invulnerability, if it’s undertuned the class feels like paper.
That’s why i was opting for clearer defensive options, at least those can be tweaked far easier with less risk of yo-yo’ing.

Well we still have haunt which hits like a truck. Generally we throw haunt into our kill target so I think with some buffs like I mentioned it would def help put hellcaller on the menu

Fdk is actually awful right now. It’s so sad :/. I do more burst than the fdk I play with if I’m not forced to heal.

Hpriest already has some of the highest throughput in the game. Problem is their lack of any external damage reduction / overabundance of pvp talents.
It’s similar to Preservation in that sense, being disproportionately affected by dampening due to being throughput reliant. But Pres has the offense to end games faster.
