I really hope so. The fresh starts are so good in, well, any game. I play a lot of hc and it’s basically just a fresh start. but i want to do endgame and tbc content so i’m done with hc for now.
It would be nice to know asap if there will be so we can plan around it
they should have done a fresh tbc and wotlk era server(s) for everyone and even a fresh vanilla server for the classic andy apes. but no. let’s force everyone to play vanilla AGAIN then have people with un godly amounts of gold to go into tbc so people can be sweaty right away. genius muv by blizz as usual. only the braindead monkeys known as classic andys are the only ones having any fun rn
You SO could. and that was the reason those new servers died. After not very long, transfer to the new servers were opened, and everybody came here complaining about being killed, corpse-camped and slaughtered in Redridge, blocking any progress for the new characters.
There won’t be any new servers for TBC. The ideology is Big is beautiful. Mega servers are here to stay.
I wanted fresh but I knew it wouldn’t happen so I bit the bullet and leveled. ZG patch is a great time to start in Vanilla; lots of catchup mechanics. And PvP gear is free provided you’re willing to slog through innumerable (and soulless) AVs.
No, you could never transfer on to the fresh servers. You could transfer off but never on. If you can transfer on to a fresh server it isn’t a fresh server.
Transfers on to the new server would have increased the population.
Technically correct is knowing what from and to mean.
You could transfer FROM Maladath TO other servers.
You could never transfer TO Maladath FROM other servers.
Did they treat the US new Wrath servers different from the EU ones?
In EU the new servers were given free for transfer TO after a very short timespan. Most new starters were not yet level 60, and had no defenses against the geared 60s moving there. It was of course disaster.
Edit:
I see Tsataga has found the relevant quote, same thing happened. Thank.
I mean 3 months in to ulduar there wasn’t anyone on those servers anyway and its not what the person I was responding to was saying. You’re right though I guess when there was only 50 people left they opened them up.
6 months isn’t a short time frame
This didn’t happen, and I have no idea why you are saying 60 in wrath.
Well I’m not going to search through all the old EU posts to prove you wrong (not least because I still have a headache, and Blizz’s white-on-dark is hard to read).
We can of course sit here all day like small childreen in a playground and say “Yes it did” “No it did not” 'till the cows come home … or we can accept that EU and US servers are different, and that while it did not happen US side, it did EU side.
