Seems odd to release then have server maitenance right after but maybe they will. I was thinking of taking a day off after launch but I don’t want to waste leave if half the day it will be down for maitenance.
I generally don’t recommend taking off anywhere near launch days. Moreso this expansion. If the prepatch is anything to go by, I don’t think we’re going to have a whole lot of stability in the game for at least a week or so. Then again I’m being rather pessimistic tonight.

As a seasoned wow player who as seen many launches… DON’T take off the day right after it launches.

Probably, and there will likely be restarts and maintenance weds and thurs as they make adjustments to the game. Since they will have the data from millions of players all running through their new zones.
There will probably be several “maintenance” periods after launch.
And the problems will be many.
It’s typical.

I agree with Drac, given how bad server stability has been for the past week, I think the large servers are gonna have massive queues, if not some downtime, when the expansion launches.
I definitely expect maintenance on Tuesday, though.
Even on Moon Guard right now, when you go to the docks to hand in the daily, there is like a two second delay when selling stuff to the vendor there.

Idk, I hope there is no dirty maintenances after launch, I want to play DF and i want to play it now! 
Death, taxes, and maintenance following expansion/patch drops. Those three are certain.

Probably. Or, at the very least, something will probably go down horribly. I have a dentist appointment on the 29th and I kept it purely because realistically speaking, it’s likely gonna explode.
Possibility , If the server is unstable and crashes then its better to do a maintenance

Normally a bad idea to take time off for launch… Week after launch sure that is a safe bet… but normally the week of launch you can almost guarantee there will be at the very minimum restarts for at least 3 days following release if not something more substantial.
They already included a message…somewhere…that there are certain things you won’t be able to/have to do Monday evening before the reset maintenance on Tuesday so people don’t lose their minds trying to do things before that time, so they have already confirmed there will be the normal hour at least on Tuesday. Of course as others have already mentioned, there will likely be many issues so much more downtime than just an hour.
I work from home so I’ll be on when I can…but I did take off next Friday too, in hopes that things are working that day and I can play all day while family is at work and school, so crossing my fingers no issues during that time, haha.
there’s usually a whole bunch of rage threads from people who took time off work to play, and then blow their gasket when there’s a bunch of downtime.
it’s only been a constant for 15 years or so.
some people are slow learners. 
I suspect there will be unscheduled maintenance the day of launch with the world server crashing and it being blamed on a DDOS. This will probably carry over to the next day as well. I don’t even plan on playing Dragonflight in those first two days at least.
You’ll have two weeks before the Season starts and anything meaningful to most people starts.
THis game basically gets DDoSed at every launch cylce so I expect there to be issues.
