That is similar to Guild Wars 2 and Elder Scrolls online?
Some of the features I’d like to see are:
Dyes. In GW2 you can dye any part of your gear AND mounts!
Instant mounting
Variety of talents and passives that I can put points into every level
Ability for talents/passive points to carry onto alts
Realistic graphics
Ability morphs (upgrade your spells to suit your style of playing)
Leveling in any zone, even as a level 1 in the new content.
Questlines giving talent points at end
Free to play (no sub!!) with a variety cash store for those who want to buy. But also a system to convert gold and real money back and forth to allow players to purchase cash store items without using real money.
Anything else I missed that you want to see?
Edit: OH! PvP, like ESO and GW2, there should be a separate instance of the world zones with pvp objectives which would be “World PvP”.
Nope sorry. The devs themselves even said it won’t happen. Need to move on. Also, I hate GW2 and ESO is meh. So no thanks, don’t want any of those things in my WoW.
Idk if they will make WoW2. I think they will just keep working on this version of WoW and classic WoW. I think they will have their hands full with these two MMOs.
I’m sure they’d change the game through expansions before they make a second one. This game is already so stable with a solid foundation / framework. It would take too many resources to make another and maintain it just to add a few features.
Also they will never change the graphics for a more “realistic” approach (sadly). That’s just the theme Warcraft has always had in every way. Blizzard believes this to be a core part of the game. It just won’t change. Simpler coloring book graphics also make it easier to push out more content.
BUT - in the interest of this thread I’ll play. I’d like to see housing(like Archeage), Sea Warfare (also like Archeage), No Rules WPvP again, Reinstitution of a proper Ambush Rogue, and yeah more “realistic” graphics. All in all more sandbox than themepark would be nice.
I want to play too! I don’t really care about new features they add just copypasta WoW1 to a new platform/engine/whatever the gaming industry term is that would allow them the ability to create more of whatever they want without being limited by the system.
Really…replaced. Just because other MMOs have finally reached a competitive level doesn’t mean they have replaced WoW.
In response to the OP.
No, I dont think there will ever be a WoW 2. Creating one would cut into the revenue of WoW with no guarantee of returns on their investments.
Business wise it would make more sense to create a different MMO with another IP that could draw in a separate player base…like what the idea was with Titan. But Titan would have competed with Destiny so that was a silly idea on their part.
I would be totally for it under certain conditions. First, as much as the original team is hired and any dev that does not play MMOs must not be hired. Period. F2P??? You just guaranteed that the game is never going to be made. Games are expensive to make and a sub is a guarantee for good content…er…oh wait, no it isn’t.
Well if the company was smart they would have a small, creative team tinkering with the idea of a WoW sequel.
It should not be labeled WoW 2. It should be really a new game based on the old one. The same old MMO formula won’t work except for a niche audience.
I would like to see an MMO that incorporated many kinds of games into one game. Imagine logging into, say, a game called “Azeroth” and being able to choose from several kinds of game-play that all support one-another.
Imagine Fortnite, Stardew Valley, WoW raiding, Pokémon, an FPS version of instances, and a role-playing area all set in Azeroth and inter-connected with common areas. It could be the biggest game ever. And it would feel like a real word because a real word has all different kinds of people in it.
But, you know, I would be shocked if Blizzard has the guts to attempt such a game. They have gone from ambitious to small-minded.
WoW expansions are sequels. Why do you think we need a 2? For a new engine when they have been revamping the existing engine since forever? New lore when we get new lore every quarter? New Art when the assets are being updated and new ones rolled out every year?
Honestly I don’t understand this want for a sequel. Sequels are for games that are static dev cycles of 1-2 years and WoW fulfills that need in expansions.
Instead of focusing on making a new game let’s focus on the poor design choices in the current one.
has activision done anything with blizzard as in new games besides a failed over watch?think about it.starcraft ran in to the ground, heros of the storm ran in to the ground, diablo 3 ran into the ground and it looks like heartstone is next.
the way i see it is wow will get worse filled with more microtransactions and ran in to the ground it is a 14 year old game.if anything wow will fade away with bfa after bfa.
