Will there be a World of Warcraft Reset or Warcraft Reborn?

Pretty much the Game right now is a mess in terms of everything. Gameplay for endgame is kind of meh, Raids are dull in terms of lack of Class Tier Gear, No Exciting Good Stories anymore, Too many Good Characters that I really love is dead, Terrible Writing for the Lore, Lack of Screentime for other Races, and etc.

Makes me wonder at this point instead of a WoW 2 how about we just have a WoW Reborn or WoW Restart where you still kept some of the things from Cata, Mists, Legion, and BFA Good while ignoring WoD and Shadowlands and also the Terrible plots of Legion, Mists, BFA, and Cata like the Purge of Dalaran, Burning of Teldrassil, Bombing of Theramore, Cataclysm ruining good old Alliance Zones and Horde Ones, Rushed Storylines in BFA, and etc.

Like Basically a Restart with Better Writing, Good Gameplay Wishes of Playable Races like Alliance High Elves, Horde Ogres, Arakkoa, Ethereals, Sethrak, and etc, etc.

Plus better experience like what Final Fantasy 14 is doing now in days just basically a Restart in terms of everything at this point.

What do you guys think?

Two things:

  1. all toons would need to be able to xfer
  2. new game engine

I’m gonna go with no.

Creating a new WoW would require considerable investment with no guaranteed return
financially, they are better off riding current WoW until it stops being profitable because is has returned far more than its investment at this point and will continue providing profits for years to come.

Although they definitely should use the WoW IP to make new games
just probably not a MMO

as long as i can bring my dinosaur mounts with me, i’m down for either

i’d even replay a remaster of vanilla on a new engine tbh, as long as I can keep this character ofc

The dev now remind me of the south park pc bros frat club
Do you really think they are able to even make a new game engine now
They are more likely to make ff14 version l.0 and lag our computers than make a good game.

Yeah it’s called Classic

No there won’t be and there doesn’t need to be. WoW’s core gameplay has largely remained the same as it always is. Raids, dungeons, pvp, world stuff. Class sets are returning next tier in 9.2. Those are things they can improve on with normal patches and expansions.

The “bad writing” thing is entirely based on personal opinion. Some like it, some don’t. Your own view isn’t what everyone agrees on. But this is WoW’s official story and Blizz is content with the direction it goes in. No writer would write a book and then in the sequel so “lol psyche, none of that actually happened. Here’s the real story!”

Most player requests will be denied. They have to just get over it if their desired race isn’t made playable.

But it’s fine, we’re fine, everything will be fine. A reset just makes more problems than really doing anything.

your kind of asking if there going to do this and that at the wrong time at this point in time who knows, wow is the last thing there worried about.

The reset button is out of order.

When i first heard about classic i thought thats what it was going to be. The origional game but with a face lift so to speak. Utilising the newer graphic models and animations or atleast the option to toggle them on or off like W3R. Classic was a bit of a wasted opportunity in that regard (my opinion😅)

They can’t even handle developing the game they currently have, do you honestly believe these same people can handle making a new game when it interferes with their call of duty gaming all day while at work?

You forgot the most important, and most unlikely to happen:

  1. People would need to forget that anything and everything that had something to do with current WoW, Retail or Classic or the previous strategy games ever existed. Maybe the characters could get a collective amnesia or something - we all effectively turn into Roger Smith in The Big O.

To restart WoW without pre-existing lore would be an instant failure.

Exactly. But just think of the never-ending comments about how something in WoW was way better than something in WoW 2.0. It would be retail vs classic ten-fold. We would need to begin at the point where we first stated to play Warcraft in the timeline - WoD but for Azeroth.

No, I get where you’re going. I was just commenting further.

Who is going to play those games given current events and the perceived mismanagement of the MMO? If something happens to World of Warcraft I’m not playing another game created by Blizzard-Activision. Look what they did with Warcraft Reforged, it was ruined.

If its a good game, then I probably would.

There are no innocent gaming companies, so if I decided not to play video games based on employment issues
then I would never be able to play another video game.

Let alone buy any products in general
there really isn’t an innocent company

The problem is Activision has decided that they’re going to deflect and blame “woke” people for their woes, the stink they are creating will not wash away no matter what cool game they create.

WoW Remains a significant money maker for Blizzard, More and More content and effort gets put into WoW every patch to reflect this.

If the game stopped making money, then they would move on, but until that point We’ll continue with WoW.

Otherwise you’d just be shooting yourself in the foot.

So I’d drop fat stacks of cash on a Diablo-esque game where you play as Super amped up version of the WoW classes.

This is incredibly defeatist. It’s one of the fundamental aspects of a Capitalist society.
We vote with our dollars.
I assure you plenty of people will drop their morals if you dangle a cool new game in front of their faces.

You can say that those people are terrible and shallow. But it’s just part of the Human condition.

They’re going to have to start making stuff that knocks peoples socks off, that means they will have to start spending more. If it’s more of the ‘same old’ then you can forget about anyone forgiving and forgetting.
