Honest question- what have people been saying about this? What would you prefer to see?
they already said they are not making any decisions or talks about BC or not BC until after they see how classic goes.
Since BC Classic isn’t hinted at I would have to say yes. Though with the classic play style, it’s going to be a while before there is enough “finished” players.
For 90% of players there won’t be a content draught after Naxx because only a very small percentage of players will ever complete it.
100% would want to see a tbc server. Wrath server after that would be cool too but I would stop there… but for sure tbc should come back, considering it is the best version of wow after all
Yes because the end has already be outlined. Unless they do BC next, which is a good chance they do, as a player you will hit content that is your limit with nothing new to come. Be it Naxx as the ultimate end, or if your not as hardcore it’s going to be the end game dungeons/ max professions / “lore master” / etc.
Yes tbc and Wrath, then I can have my Cata server. And then Mop Server. And then my Legion server and then…
They are making it so anything from live can be brought into classic with nothing more than a retune. So if classic was a big enough success there could be a decade more content returned to fit with classic play style. Or they may not do that. We will have to see. But they have laid all the ground work to be able to do this if they choose to.
Possiblity some merit to separate classic servers. Having a classic progression experience seems odd since that’s already happened and look where it got us.
That being said being able to copy your character once 60 or 70 into the next progression server could be interesting.
You could experience the next progression without losing the classic experience.
Well technically. Vanilla ends after Naxx. So they named it “Classic” so i have a feeling that we will see a TBC server set launch and maybe even fresh vanilla servers 2 years after the game opens. No one really knows yet.
The real content drought happens after naxx is launched tbh. Once naxx is launched no one clears AQ 40 or BWL anymore. People do ZG, AQ20, and MC though. Any by “no one” i don’t mean not a single person. I mean you won’t find most guilds clearing those anymore, and pugs are not common for them due to the consumable requirements and raid comp.
If people will know ahead of time that BC is coming - Naxx will suffer the same fate it had back then - no one will do it. Only 0.2% of all lev 60 players who played pre-BC actually got a chance to do Naxx.
IMHO if they want people to actually enjoy Naxx they should tune it down a bit. Or Not release BC…
Answer is technically yes. They said at Blizzcon they have no plans for content after Classic at this time, BC or otherwise. That said, After Naxx has been out for a year or two, I would not be opposed to a classic BC and possibly even new Classic Vanilla content that stays at level 60.
I want to see nothing changed first off, but the issue with naxx is the consume requirement plus you need exalted with argent or else you pay out the rear. It also takes a ton of time. People won’t bother with BWL or AQ the same as they did before when naxx is out. The design of the raid was great and I liked it. It made most other content completely pointless besides last bosses though.
Depends on your server, but I remember getting to revered and only paid 90g worth of things off the AH. Still a lot for the time, but far cheaper then the lower rep options.
“Content drought” is a concept from WotLK and later. It had no meaning until the game became all about raiding.
For many the game was all about raiding and getting alts ready since um like month 2 or 3 after launch lol
Not to worried about a “content drought” with Classic as Im not playing classic entirely for End game content… If I wanted a endless loop I would stick to Retail
Truthfully I doubt I will ever even see Naxx as Im not even that much of a Raider tbh
That would be a hard no.
LOL?
It’s like the end of the South Park episode when they beat the game.
“Now we can finally play the game.”
I will enjoy the journey and I will cherish the destination.
There will indeed be a content drought after the raid that 95% of the Classic playerbase will never finish
