If you have actual evidence that SL won’t have a 9.3, provide it. Something from an official blizzard source or a road map.
Otherwise, yes, it’s just speculation right now.

No, put the expansion out of its misery and give 10.0 a chance at being good. SL isn’t climbing its way out of the dumpster.
It will be heralded as an expansion so good, that it will be compared to success stories like The Last Jedi.
Unless another global even occurs that basically shuts down the world, I doubt we will see a 9 month draught for the next one. I can see a 9.3 but it will be a small patch like the end of BFA, just something to wrap up the story arc and hold us over until the next expansion.
WoD was able to end early because it’s story was mostly filler anyway. It was just a nostalgia trip about dead orcs as a mechanism to reintroduce the Legion.
Shadowlands is different. It’s a completely new story and if it gets a .3 is really dependant on how they want that story to play out and how much the story of 10.0 depends on what happens here.
The entire future of the game is going to be built on the story Shadowlands starts. They can’t really cut that short without a lot of risk. So really it depends on how much filler story they had planned. Stuff like the new megadungeon. That is unnecessary, if they had a lot of that sort of content planned, they might be able to get away with cutting it and shortening the xpac.
so that you can bash 10.0?
Y’all realize 9.1 was only like 2 months late, right? It’s a long time in the context of x.1 patches but not particularly long in the context of a 2-year expansion cycle.
It’s totally possible we don’t get a 9.3 for Shadowlands, but it’s just as likely we get a 9.3 and it’s a little on the light side – or reuses assets if the story allows for it (say, 9.2 wraps up the Jailer stuff, 9.3 has us doing something on Azeroth?), which would likely make up the lost time.
Yeah more than likely if 9.2 is in 5/6 months
I don’t even want 9.2 at this point tbh just hoping it will end soon and we can get a good expansion that makes everyone happy not just the most elite of players
LOL You seriously need to stop.
9.0 is the longest .0 patch by almost double. Ion has said they’re farther behind than they want to be for multiple reasons, such as covid and new employees needing to be caught up.
There’s no evidence that there for sure won’t be a 9.3, but there is evidence that it’s a possibility and saying there’s nothing but speculation belies a misunderstanding of the word.
People keep assuming there will be another WoW expansion in 2022.
I don’t know people keep doing that. Yes, Blizzard has generally kept to one expansion every 2 years, but that’s never been set in stone. Right now we’ve heard nothing about the next WoW expansion, and we’d likely get that announcement at Blizzcon right? Well another Blizzcon isn’t happening this year. The next Blizzcon will be a digital one in early 2022, like this year’s Blizzcon was. So that would mean Blizzard would need to announce the next expansion and start the alpha/beta almost immediately if they wanted to reach a 2022 release date.
No, what we’re probably going to get is 9.2 news shortly after the big reveal of what happens at the end of 9.1. Assuming no delays we’ll probably see 9.2 launch by October/November this year, with 9.3 being announced in Feburary.
That will mean Shadowlands will be the longest expansion in WoW history (if only because of the excessive delay to get 9.1 out). But it will give Blizzard developers all the time they need to get 10.0 ready for ship for a potential early or mid 2023 release date.
Heck, just from your own logic you contradict your own point. There’s no “official road map” from Blizzard stating that there will be a 9.3, therefore it’s all “just speculation” that the game will even go past 9.1.
No dont move on until what you have is fun and in a good state.
As I’ve said before and will say again, this is Ativision Blizzard we are talking about. They will 100% want to get the next expansion out on the 2 year mark because they make hundreds of millions of dollars selling each new expansion - it’s why they’re on two year cycles.
I’m 90% sure we won’t get a 9.3 because they will just be trying to crunch the expansion, or if we do it’ll be a small system fixing patch to keep us occupied for a couple of months. 9.2 will probably be the finishing of the story/current SL arc.
I think not. I think they should make 9.2 really long release wotlk and in the meantime really work on a great Expansion
Imagine…just imagine: Ion said Shadowlands is the way it is because of covid and because players didn’t test the game how he liked.
Now imagine what 10.0 is going to look like given the entire expansion will be created during covid, not just the tail end of it.
Covid is no longer disrupting workplaces, for the most part. When people talk about covid being a setback, it’s the few months of actual lockdown and initial transition into remote work that they’re talking about. Not… being in a pandemic in general. Because, yes, we are still in a pandemic, but no, it’s not being treated in a way that’s disruptive to work anymore.
Starting to feel like anyone citing Covid now is just making excuses.
Not a bash on you or anyone’s post, just an observation.
More out of the expansion.
WoD could’ve been salvaged but the devs chose an easy out and it goes down in history as the worst expansion ever.
