I am hoping that finally blizzard will get eyes on this issue. Virtually every streamer is complaining about this problem and tweeting @warcraftdevs, please listen to the feedback and make a resolution.
Doubtful. MMR is busted. Was just reading worldofpvp on reddit and everyone is all over the place on the problem. Most people are still saying there is a cap, but Blizz has said otherwise. Participation alone seems like it wouldnât be the reason. If inflation really propped up the previous seasons that much, then why arenât they being more aggressive about it? A lot doesnât make sense.
There is a massive drop off in rating above 1600. Could be that people are just stopping after they get their tier piece, but itâs VERY noticeable that a lot of good players are simply stuck in the 1600-1800 range.
Blizzard is just MIA at this point. While you can see there is as lot of effort being put into class design, PvP is just being left in the dust. Maybe they simply donât have a solution so they keep bandaiding it with inflation. They canât keep waiting to inject inflation.
I think at least 700 free mmr would be an adequate place to start so every shuffler can reach their true rating.
Blizzard was responding to complaints about 3âs rating. They explicitly stated they will be suppressing shuffle rating which is what everyone is complaining about.
Oh, not sure how I missed that. Iâll try and find the post.
This is it:
Continuing the discussion from Arena is Deflated:
Hrm. If thatâs the case and they are simply letting this issue fester, they really are just tossing gas on the fire. Unbelievably bad management.
They have such a high turnover rate these days I wouldnât be surprised if the devs in charge of PvP now donât even know this âfixâ exists.
Shuffle should never give more rating than actual 3v3.
Yea, that would be unsurprising. Given the direction PvP has gone, it does feel like no one is at the helm. Class and PvP design in general is really bad now. Thing that would have been wholly unacceptable a decade ago or quickly removed/nerfed are now the staple of class design.
So with that in mind, I guess I should be unsurprised that the same people are that out of touch with ratings and the importance of achievable goals.
Assuming you arenât trolling, why? If itâs the more accessible and popular content, why should shuffle be held back if thatâs what players want? Holding back 3s rating doesnât make 3s better, it just makes shuffle worse.
Thatâs a different discussion though. Just trying to bring clarity to the conversation around why shuffle ratings are low and people seem to think the blue post referencing no rating caps is in reference to shuffle when itâs clearly in reference to 3v3 ratings. The devs stated they implemented something to keep shuffle rating in line with other brackets (i.e. keep shuffle ratings lower) and it appears whatever that something was is not working correctly. Knowing them itâs probably something that isnât automated and needs manually adjusted (like the spoils of war buff or conquest cap they always forget about) and someone forgot this existed.
