Will the new housing feature charge property taxes?

Will we own our homes, or will we “own” our homes?

Thats up to your RP community.

They did say if you havent logged on for a long time, it could reset your house to base. How long or what actually happens isnt fully confirmed.

It has been confirmed that there wont be any taxes type of thing and the only risk of losing the house you built is if you go away for a very long time like a whole year or more, Every house takes up storage space so if you’re gone to long they can’t really go leaving the house stored forever.

They’ve also confirmed you’ll be able to copy the code for the houses just like with talent trees to share with others, So it is possible you can easily create a permanent backup by saving your code to a text file that wont be deleted if you have no option but to go away for over the housing storage limit for an inactive account.

If the entire design of our houses can be compressed into a code, it doesn’t take much to store.

But you would likely lose your plot that your house sits on so they don’t end up with “empty” neighbourhoods.

Time for some psychotic GM to impose mandatory guild HoA fees for existing in the neighborhood :dracthyr_lulmao:

It likely was more meant along that kind of detail as they have that option to save multiple talent trees already after all, So it would be easy for them to store the housing as just the code and you just need to drop the code for the house down again. I wouldn’t be surprised if we can actually save multiple houses exactly like they have for talent trees even.

arbitrary property taxes for homes in mmorpgs are a great way to kill the system and ensure no one wants to use it

it worked out great for new world

It’s a video game, not real life. There are no property taxes.

Oi! Don’t get my started about property taxes! They go up and up and test scores at the schools just go down and down. I noticed one of the administrators driving a S-class off of the school lot, so someone is getting paid.

Some MMO that have housing do charge a in game house tax…one that Amazon has does…can’t remember the name right off top of my head now but I played it for a while but when I went to see about getting a house/apt the cost were based on who owned the zone and cost could go up and down depending which faction owned the zone…and if you didn’t pay they took the house away.

Now see I know just how to deal with them property tax assessors. When it comes time to re-evaluate the value of my house, I let the grass grow real high, like chest height, until they’re sprouting seedheads (they’re actually quite beautiful), let the spiders build some webs around the windows and mailbox, maybe spraypaint a little graffiti on the exterior like it’s a crack house

I hope we can do this in-game

I can’t imagine they’re going to bring the worse elements in into housing after stealing some of the best ideas from multiple games

See, in Azeroth that wouldn’t work because you’d get a bunch of nerubians moving in your neighborhood and they’d drive the prices back up.

Well you don’t actually “own” or own anything in WoW, Blizzard does.

Kind of like real life.

You will “own” your home just like you “own” the characters on your account.

So not at all, you’ll be renting it just like you rent everything else on the account.

Where was this said? Because it contradicts the original article.
