Blizzard seems to be going through at least some of the Old God whispers and such, mostly the ones about N’zoth.
One we haven’t seen yet in just about any meaningful way fulfilled is the Boy King’s lies.
Outside of trying to predict a huge plot twist involving Anduin that would come from way in left field, we have not seen anything that could possibly fit into a lie being told by a Boy King and 2 more to come.
So will this plotline actually come to something in BfA?
Not everything the void sees comes to pass in every universe or timeline.
You know the difference between the light and the void?
You know the difference between the light and the void?
The Void also says things like "your fellow party members are going to kill you." You never know.
Nah. The only prophesies allowed to come true are those wrapped in gold for the Alliance.

TIL Old God whispers are prophecies
"The boy-king serves at the master's table. Three lies will he offer you."
Perhaps like Illidan, Anduin is getting a story later.

Which makes them the ultimate unreliable narrator. You can never know whether what it's saying actually applies to your reality.
The light and the void are obvious manifestations of Free Will and Determinism.
Its come to a point I just want Blizz hurry and get on with what they are trying to do. These OoOoOoO spooky cryptic messages from the old gods are getting old.
Lie #1: We can't fight the Horde and the Legion at the same time, because, the Horde will be absolutely necessary to defeat the Legion.
Lie #2: The blame for Teldrassil can solely be laid at Sylvanas' feet, and not the Horde that cut and burned a path through Ashenvale and Darkshore to allow her to reach it, and followed her order to fire upon it. And that removing her from power will somehow magically fix the Horde's villainy.

Sorry but these are terrible.

Well, 100+ wipes on mythic mode cause people screw up things say "Hi"...
lie number one was already told supposedly before bfa even started11/04/2018 10:04 AMPosted by GalenornLie #1: We can't fight the Horde and the Legion at the same time, because, the Horde will be absolutely necessary to defeat the Legion.

Those aren't lies, though, just things you disagree with. A lie requires an intentional falsehood, or else it's just "being wrong."11/04/2018 10:04 AMPosted by GalenornLie #1: We can't fight the Horde and the Legion at the same time, because, the Horde will be absolutely necessary to defeat the Legion.

Yes. Just because someone might be wrong from the perspective of a party with complete knowledge, such as the player, doesn't mean they're lying.
I don’t think throwing it out as “Void lies” is really accurate. It is Blizzard writing these things and it’s very likely these are foreshadowing. (Even if it’s something they leave open ended so they can come up with an answer later)
We have the fish knowing the secrets, we have the drowned god as N’zoth and his prison weakening extremely likely to come about in 8.3. And it’s very possible that Ny’alotha is a real city and is where N’zoth is. (Warbringer possibly showing it for the first time)
Now it definitely could be that the lies are bad for the Old Gods and good for us, but it’s very likely to be real one way or another

I just can't discount the fact that Anduin haters cling to this so hard to justify their antipathy when his pre-existing character flaws or his lack of "manliness" is not enough.

Well he is called that by just about everyone.....
Idk why people discount the fact that either 1. It’s from the Old God’s perspective about the lies (so good for us) or 2. Anduin could defy the prophecies about him. (As the antithesis of Sylvanas who at this point looks likely to be the lady wrapped in shadows)
Probably, but I have a feeling its not going to go the way people think it will. There are a lot of people who use that whisper to bash on Anduin, because they hate Anduin. There is some bias there. However ... look at the formatting of that whisper.
"The boy-king sits at the masters table. Three lies will he offer you."
The boy-king does appear to be talking about Anduin ... however the structure of this whisper keeps it vague who is offering the "Lies". Its a period, not a comma, which means that it could be the Boy-King that is offering us lies, or it could in fact be the Master instead. Beyond that, we have Ogmot's Journal as of 7.3.5.
"The Blade's eye watches all. Why do you not see? The first of his lies has been offered. Bound by a throne? No ... boundless. The next will come soon."
The first lie had either been told before or during patch 7.3.5, but has Anduin or even Genn said anything that would really matter if it were a lie up till that point? The second part is more interesting ... both Anduin and Genn (if Genn were the Master) are both still very much bound by thrones (The Throne of SW and the Throne of Gilneas respectively). However, the journal seems to imply that whoever is telling lies ... is no longer bound by a Throne (and that that individual was only freed very recently). Could it be the "Burning Throne" of 7.3.2 its referring to?
I love this sort of theory-crafting crap. :D

Since when are Old God whispers "prophecy"? Am I missing something or is that some rectal lore?
