Nope. Truthfully Legion kinda was because Templates were the best thing ever implemented from a “fair” standpoint but players are disillusioned into thinking that prior gear options (pre legion) actually gave them a sense of choice when really everything is cookie cutter.

or it could be the fact that the devs were atrociously bad at utilizing them and decided to give me 30% crit as a disc priest when its the worst stat for my class in pvp, and multiple classes had it the same way? also the fact that you literally had no idea of knowing how much damage your abilities were doing because the idiot devs didn’t post the differences anywhere.
not saying that templates are inherently bad, but there’s a reason people disliked legion’s version of templates

but who cares what your stats are if your spec is good? afaik disc had far more t1 seasons than not throughout legion
if i have 30% crit and 10% mastery but my spec is still good why do i literally care

Legion didn’t have pvp scaling so not sure what you mean by “no idea of knowing…”. But so did every other disc priest, crit is almost the worst stat for everyone because it’s 150%. Templates offered the most balance system that blizzard could ever offer. PvP vendors are also great, both are much better alternatives than the path blizzard took in BFA and may continue on in Slands.

haha yea why do i care that my spec plays like a literal snail stuck in glue, but atleast it has good numbers yaknowhatimsayin
also, abilities were balanced seperately (which is a theme that has continued into BFA WHICH IS FINE) but they didn’t have anywhere you could check how the ability was nerfed/buffed without going through 2 years worth of hotfix pages
All they had to do was have rings that cost 100 honor and the secondary stat distribution of the two PvP rings would have determined your templated stat distribution.
Other devs figured this out a long time ago. But I guess Blizz devs are just too good at game design to copy things that already work.
That is true tho, which is just blizzard’s lack of transparency. Both templates and pvp vendors are great routes, I particularly liked templates because blizzard is notoriously bad at everything pvp and believed templates would be the easiest ever to balance.

i played almost every class in legion
never felt like i would die for 5% more haste or something stupid
if the spec felt bad it was almost never stat related it was entirely ability template nerf related
but there’s 0 chance even a dog 2k disc like u can disagree that legion wasn’t 50x better than bfa

for 1, no i don’t think legion was 50x better than bfa, i think they’re both, alongside wod, unbelievably terrible.

aite just to slow it down here, i said in the first post i did that templates as an idea are completely fine, but blizzard messed them up BIG compared to what they could’ve been. the person at the top says legion is the best ever cus templates which i completely disagree with.
i would however prefer something like wod/mop gearing (without trashran obviously).
