Will Scripted Bots Invade the US Servers in the Foreseeable Future?

Fellow Azerothians, I bring grim news from the front lines and hope to find solutions through the collective wisdom of this community.

TL;DR:

  1. After the shutdown of the Mainland China server, players migrated en masse to the Taiwan-HongKong-Macau servers.
  2. Scripted bots also migrated to the Taiwan-HongKong-Macau servers alongside the players.
  3. Within less than a month of HC’s start, the server is already overwhelmed by bots. The queue times have reached upwards of 4 hours nightly. Yet, Blizzard has taken no constructive action. (I come home from work at 8 pm, and can only get in by midnight. Log in just to say hi and goodbye to friends? What?)
  4. Players, myself included, are now discussing the feasibility of moving to US servers.

Currently, we’re in the fourth phase. If this phase concludes, the foreseeable future may bring about Phase 5 and Phase 6:

  1. Scripted bots follow players to migrate to US servers.
  2. The US servers begin to queue until they’re overloaded.

If Blizzard remains indifferent to the issues of the Taiwan server, what reason do we have to believe they’ll effectively manage other server problems? There’s a high chance that the US servers could also fall victim to scripted bots.

Avoiding Phases 5 and 6 is simple:
All Blizzard needs to do is ensure that players on the Taiwan server can log in normally, thereby preventing them from migrating to the US servers and ensuring Phases 5 and 6 never occur.

How can they ensure normal login for Taiwan server players?
The answer is straightforward:

  1. Conduct a large-scale purge of scripted bots immediately.
  2. Expand. Add more servers or increase layer counts. Any measure that can accommodate more online players should work.

However, Blizzard Taiwan seems inactive. Do they believe these solutions won’t work? Does anyone have better suggestions?

Starting the queue remotely isn’t an ideal solution because any disconnection means no gameplay for the entire evening. HC appears to lack a disconnection protection mechanism, or maybe the protection duration is too short?

Fellow Azerothians, as I bring these disturbing updates, I also seek your assistance. We’ve tried various channels like reporting and appealing, but Blizzard Taiwan remains unresponsive. Many of us have received numerous thank-you notes from Blizzard for reporting bots. But you know what? There are more and more bots out in the wild, and the login queue time is increasing.

Fellow Azerothians, we hope to find a solution through collective wisdom. Migrating is our last choice, and we hope it doesn’t come to that.

We truly appreciate any brainstorming and insights you can provide.

(Note: Blizzard prohibits petition posts on the forum, so we’re not here to petition. We’re here for discussion and to seek collective wisdom.)

Role-played racism is still racism.

That must have flown over my head, I’m not seeing anything fitting that description?

Clearly hes saying bots are people too and its racist to suggest that they be banned for something they had no control over.

The bots are the real victims here.

Well, I could sympathize with them if it weren’t for the bots that made me wait in line to log in for 4 hours every day.

You waiting four hours to log into Hardcorpse every day?

Huh.

As opposed to unscripted bots?

Well in answer to your thread title… they always do, don’t they?

More importantly, how do I get in on this bot action. I’d finally get somewhere if I wasn’t the one playing…

Fellow Azerothians, I have good news and bad news.
A new server has been launched for the Taiwan-Hong Kong-Macau region. Although the land is still littered with gold-farming bots, at least we don’t have to queue, for now. Emphasis on “for now.”
Nevertheless, not having to queue for 4 hours daily is certainly a relief. The threat of gold-farming bots remains, and it’s uncertain how long this good fortune will last.
I will continue to update you all, dear Azerothians. I also look forward to the wise among you offering insights to tackle this ongoing issue.

What are unscripted bots?

I dunno but they must exist since he specified scripted bots to distinguish from some sort of alternative?

I had a friend who was real into improv bots for a while.

It was a really annoying phase…

New update, brethren of Azeroth.
We have noticed a significant presence of bots in the level 40-50 zones. This indicates that the average level of these bots has surpassed the average level of regular players. I’m deeply saddened by this development.

Additionally, the transportation business, driven by these bots, has monopolized the entire market. They operate 24/7. You simply whisper to a bot, and they instantly summon you and then initiate a trade to collect gold coins.

I’m eager to find solutions to this bot chaos and have started to ponder a question: If a player, frustrated by the bot situation, deliberately kills a bot, does that player’s action violate the game’s rules?

This question has been answered for you multiple times.

You don’t know either of these numbers, so it is impossible to compare them.

Good lord.

Even I have this addon.

Magic 8 ball will I be rich someday?

If I’m already summoned, how they going to make me pay?

I really want to know this also.
