I think it was 2006 that game services like server/realm transfers were introduced into wow. I think it was around the same time as patch 1.12 but I could be wrong.
I know there are no plans to introduce it right away but only talk of it in the future.
If there’s no plans for extended sharding I would imagine this would be a good thing to offer.

Still waiting on blizz to confirm what their plan is with this. Until then we are just fishing for answers. We are just small fish in the pond.

Both of these replies are trolling and should be reported as such.
This thread and idea is a valid one. Why? Because the server transfer server existed in Vanilla. You could transfer from:
PVP → PvE /PVP
PvE → PvE
In mid 2006, Blizzard Entertainment began the Paid Character Transfer Service, which is sometimes referred to as PCT. The Paid Character Transfer feature allows you to move characters to other realms as well as between two accounts where you are the original registered owner, subject to certain restrictions. The cost of each paid character transfer is $25 / 20€ / £17 / ₩24,000.
Name changes however were introduced in 2007, so those are a no go.
Also in the youtube video provided by the Classicast Team around the 20 minute mark, it sounds like Tips ask about services, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAKvIx6eQpA
The devs said “Some of these were available during the Classic era.” Which is correct. Realm transfers did exist during Classic.
So OP they are going to look at it, but most likely it may be offered. Since they were offered back in 2006.

So is calling them out as such.
Here let me edit it.

It’s possible, but we don’t know for sure.
Calling out trolls isn’t against the forum CoC. I also stayed on topic, which your original GIF did not.
If you don’t have anything constructive to add to threads, don’t drop by and just post GIFs. It’s harmful to actual discussion about the topic.
On topic, yes server transfers are a valid service that may be in Classic.

More than likely that they are introduced at some point during Classic.
There is absolutely no reason not to as some already mentioned they were part of late Vanilla and I don’t see massive downside of having them in anyway.
Also it’s basically free money for Blizzard for a service nobody should realistically have any issue having around. Sure some people will complain about ninjalooters jumping servers but come on…if someone is willing to pay 25 bucks just to get a new round of ninjalooting on another server before they are again blacklisted then sure go ahead.
I don’t understand your response. Lately Blizz has been really good about give us updates about their plans.
Why is this a bad time to ask about this? And how am I being devious about it?
Maybe your definition of fishing is wrong. I am not trying to be sneaking or manipulative in what I am asking. I am being pretty clear and direct.

Still waiting on blizz input. What’s not to understand about that? None of us know. We are all looking (fishing) for answers.
Here let me ask a question too. Will they allow paid transfers from pve to pvp realms? Hmmm. I could roll pve and then transfer to a pvp server and most likely get to 60 before a lot of the pvpers…
Most likely they will not. It wasn’t allowed previously due to that very reason of PVP and PVE fostering different environments.
How dare someone make a silly joke?
I’m glad people like you are here to keep people in line.

Anyway, the downside to no sharding is you end up on a dead server.
Realm transfers is a legit question before you invest a lot of time on a certain server.
If there’s no transfers on release or at all, I’d be very careful where I would roll or I might even wait to get classic (and re-sub) for awhile. Maybe even a couple months.
Classic grind being what it is and all.
I expect realm transfers to be available. It’s an easy cash grab for blizzard.

Luuni, people are allowed to joke which is what I took padre’s comment to be. It’ll be fine.

His first comment was a GIF that said
“Here fishy, take the bait.”
It was the first reply and it has now been edited 3 times. It was a GIF insinuating the OP was a troll looking to “bait” people for talking about a valid topic. I really don’t want to discuss why I reported him anymore because it doesn’t have anything to do with the thread.
remember when was it a blizzard employee? went from PvE to PvP and everyone exploded over it xD
Anything was available in vanilla should be available in classic. That’s how I feel about it. Now out of curiosity does anyone remember what character services were available during vanilla?
Yeah seems like someone jumped the gun and kinda used the term “loosely”. It’s all good though. I see what he was getting at even though it came off the way it did.
Name shaming sure is. Concern trolling is still trolling my fanatical light forged friend btw. As you can see. I’ve bitten your bait.
Only reason I changed that gif was because it said stupid. Again. We are all fishing for answers and none of us can answer this question. Except blizz. So yea. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
Didn’t know you were the last word on what’s constructive and what’s not around here. Guess I didn’t get the memo.
On topic:That we don’t know one way or the other because blizz stretches their updates out and talks at us instead of joining and reciprocating discussions. So we are all just fishing for answers.
End of the day this will help the ninjas, edgelords, those “stuck” on servers they don’t like, and line blizz pockets with some cash. So I guess if we’re speculating on odds. Yea. Odds are they will be in.
Unless you’re a ninja, edgelord, or “stuck” on a server you don’t like you most likely won’t even use it. AV is more important than this and blizz will follow the money. My 2 shillings. /shrug
I would think that allowing pve to pvp transfer would not be allowed. I’ll have to look up the details about it when it was introduced.
It’s interesting because since sharding there is a lot of stuff like this have not given much thought to.
