Will People Still Raid and Run Dungeons in Classic?

Realistically, how many people will have time to run dungeons or raids in Classic? Even short dungeons could often take several hours to assemble a group, travel to the instance, and then run the dungeon. And bigger dungeons like Maraudon could take 4-5 hours to clear. Not many people have entire afternoons to dedicate to a dungeon any longer.

And raiding was like a fulltime job. You needed to grind gold for repairs and regeants and spend extremely long hours in the raid multiple times a week. Never mind the crazy rep grinds you’d have to complete as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to classic, but I wonder if it’s going to be anything like Vanilla. I don’t know anyone in game or in real life that can no life it these days.

There’s not really much else to do at endgame, so yes.

It is primarily a PvE game, so yes they will.

(If nothing else, greedy streamers will run them for views because they have no other way to make money.)

It’s 1.12. Yes. Early raids will roll over and die in like an hour.

No it wasn’t you and everybody else need to stop spreading this nonsense, if it were there wouldn’t have been any raiders because neither teenagers in school or adults in college/working would be able to raid without destroying their lives
(yea sure some people probably did)
If you don’t have 2 hours a day twice a week to raid then don’t raid that does not mean it’s a ‘‘full time job’’ who works 2 hours a week twice a week full time?

I don’t think it will be quite as bad as some think. Part of what took so long back then was the lack of organization and knowledge of what to even do in the dungeon and how to properly play your toon. I think things will be more efficient. Not saying that classic wont be time consuming, just saying it wont be as bad as vanilla.

Of course they will, that is what most people are looking forward to.

This thread is taking too long.

Sprint dungeons are boring. They’re half the reason I don’t even bother playing MMOs any more. The other half is “mechanics” that involve dancing around moving geometric shapes on the floor during a fight.

There was a lot more to it than that. Most guilds ran a minimum of three times a week for 3-4 hours on my server. And outside of that, people were expected to level their profession, grind gold, help new guildies get BiS gear, stock up on regeants and help people get attunements. There was a lot more preparation outside of raid compared to now.

2 hours a day twice a week? Vanilla wasn’t a private server. Progression raiding in Vanilla was time consuming.

You just had to play smarter. Not harder.

There was a reason why I had like no alts.

That does not mean that You have to you do not have to follow the masses like a sheep, it’s not a full time job stop spreading misinformation.

i guess you guys are just more Hardcore than we were we raided twice a week 2 hours ( maybe 3 i’ll concede and say 3) and we progressed just fine.

Are you all counting farming and playing the game outside of raid as raid progression?, boggles my mind.

I remember my brothers guild might have done 3 raids a week but that wasnt progression. That was farming. They already got server firsts he already had r14 nothing left to do except farm raids for dkp or roll alts to farm raids for dkp. And the raids were still 2 hours or less.

You’re right. If you don’t want to be successful, it’s not a fulltime job. Otherwise, it’s a lot of time and effort.
