Ion has mentioned that time works differently in the shadowlands. By the time we are finished there, 10, 50 or 100 years could’ve passed in Azeroth. This sets up a perfect expansion for a rework of the old zones. I’m talking Cataclysm changes x100.
-Graphic updates to match modern era standards for old zones
-Complete rework of old zones in terms of environment (both natural and structural)
-Perhaps a new class/race was discovered while we were gone
All IMO but I think the next one will have major cosmetic changes with a focus on Kalmindor & The Eastern Kingdoms as the main questing area.

I doubt it but I hope so. The EK, Kalimdor, Northrend and Outland are the OG regions and I really struggle to care about the meme realms they keep bolting onto the universe.

Not only time works differently in SL, but also space! When we get back everything will be so much smaller it will fit on mobile phones.

can some races even live 100 years? like i’m sorry but i don’t know how they’ll explain goblins with lifespans that long :S
Like most other people here I really doubt, but would absolutely love changes/updates to all the old zones. Reworks, new stories, things to explore etc.
I think it would be uncharacteristic of blizzard to suddenly start investing massive amounts of resources in the game. Do you really trust them to get this big a change right?

if you mean update to current SL its possible, if you mean higher I dont think so.

I don’t think there will be a new unknow race but a new playable race its a high probability IF they don’t do AR in SL, if they do I feel like AR are going to be the future of race introductions to WoW, class I doubt

Will there be a world revamp? No idea, but there should be.
We need updates to the old world in a similar manner to the Darkshore/Arathi updates to cover what happened in the world since the Cataclysm, which as we all know, includes a Burning Legion invasion (which hit areas all over Azeroth, not just the Broken Isles) and the Fourth War, which also took place all over Azeroth and not just on Kul Tiras and Zandalar.
I don’t think we’ll get a massive timeskip though.
