Will my Realm die?

I really need blizzard to come out and say something about this, i’ve read posts and fought heavily with my brother about which server should I play on

I’m on Kromkrush right now and i’m afraid it will die and i wont be able to find people to play with

Do i have to sit in 4 hour ques and suck it up for the first month or will blizzard take care of the people on servers that they told people to go on if their pop fizzles out

Hopefully they will offer transfers to balance out the populations between high and low pops, otherwise yes, your realm may die.

Every realm will die. Just some sooner.

The short answer is ya

They’ll merge servers if they get low enough pop once the rush dies.

If a server does “die”
Once it hits low pop for 2-3 months they will offer transfers to another server before closing it officially
So level up, enjoy your game, and if it does die, you’ll swap to a high pop server in a few months

start saving your transfer fee. All about the $$$$$$$ with Blizz.

Nobody knows.

A week from now, they might’ve added another 15 servers. Kromkrush could be medium or high pop, as more people keep joining the game or migrating from full servers.

Or in 3 months Kromkrush could be dead and your only real hope of improvement will be paying for a transfer.

I’m pretty supportive of the launch experience so far… But I do agree that Blizzard should come out and state if they’ll allow people to transfer from low population realms to higher populations (for free!) in the coming months. Reality is that hiped demand is skewing population distribution across realms. The population that is here in 30 days might (probably will) be very different, and some realms that are full with muli-hour queues now won’t have the requisite population to produce raiding guilds or a satisfying world environment.

So I hope that Blizzard will offer transfers on classic servers. But I also think those should initially be free.

They’ve never done this. What makes you think they’ll do it now?

They’ll offer free transfers from full servers to low pop servers. If you want to go the other direction, you’re going to have to pay for it, unless Blizzard changes their ways.

There’s a good chance most of these will die.

Realistically, where do you see the population settling into? How many servers do you think they’ll ultimately need?

Yours won’t be the only one, but wherever the high pops settle in will be the ones to survive.

RP server is the safest choice to balance out decent population and reliability.

Just remember what they said initially, if the medium population indicator in classic currently is more people then a full server was in vanilla. So don’t worry about populations just yet. Plus there are alot of people who put off playing launch day because they know its going to be a hectic. Give it time, and im sure they will be able to balance the stuff out after the populations even out and phase 2 comes into play.

For all we know the hype train will crash and classic will bomb in about a month. But eventually yes, even if the server is full you may still have to sit and wait for an hour or two to find a group. It’s part of how classic functioned

There is no way to know. Krom had over 7k people queue last night at the very least. And normal vanilla server had like 2-3k people. When they remove layering you will only need 3kish people for it to be alive. And as hard as blizzard is pushing people to transfer, if server do die they will merge or allow us to transfer. Do not worry about it right now. It is being way overblown by people on the stupidly high population servers to make themselves feel better about their terrible choice

No it’s me. Ur brother.

They did this to a few servers pre BC, I was on one of them.
When population was low they wanted to delete the server, I assume to save money on server costs, and my server was merged with another

If you aren’t on one of the high pop ones I’d suggest rerolling.

Probably.
Its either face the queues or dont play the game at all on 60.
