Will Lava Lash RP Server Likely Remain Locked Indefinitely?

I am dying to join Lava Lash, and since I started playing Seasonal back in the beginning of 2024, it’s been locked this entire time. Is it that packed? In my 20 years in WoW, I don’t recall seeing a server that’s remained locked for so long.

My friend, that server is long dead. It was locked so it could die quietly with the other servers they shut down ):

It was locked to kill it off dude.

Every SoD server except for Crusader Strike and Wild Growth have been permanently Locked and killed off.

Oh, I had no idea. Thanks. I’m guessing it’s to force people to join the more populated servers, and at the same time, not prevent those who were already on those dead servers from playing. I was wanting to try an RP server again after so many years. Ah well.

My guild is on LL Horde and we’re having an amazing time. I’m pretty much the economy though, and I sell about two items per week on the AH. I think at any given time there are 10-20 people all across horde online.

It’s a great little community now, honestly. Everyone is so friendly and with few people the interactions are much more memorable and important. We’re very happy how it is and I wish we could be studied, the MM in MMORPG should mean Micro-Multiplayer as far as we’re concerned.

Sure, it’s not for everyone, but it is for some of us. So we shall stay.

Glad you’re able to enjoy the server. Perhaps next round I’ll get to enjoy an RP Seasonal server. I’m still surprised they locked it due to low activity. I wish under population, that they would simply state “This server is below the average active number of players. As a result, your experience may not be the most ideal.”

The stupid thing is that Lava Lash didn’t need to get locked. Before the lock (atleast on Alliance side) Stormwind and Ironforge were always full of people, always see people out in the world. It felt like a High-Pop server from the old days.

…The only reason Blizz did what they did is because they seem to only want Megaservers with multiple layers. It’s incredibly asinine.

Very strange move indeed. As I said, been playing 20 years, and never seen them purposely lock a realm, to literally kill it, and not because it’s too populated.

This. :|… I remember maybe a week or so before the announcement, seeing Stormwind packed to the gills, and the RP channel having an appreciable amount of banter on it.

Seems like I’ve certainly missed out. Well, thanks to all who replied. At least now I know what happened.

They did the same thing here on Shadowstrike. We had a realm that was lively, thriving, and now? Just 3 Horde guilds remain, holding it down. And you know what? We’re good with that. We’ve farmed every flask, every consume ourselves, and cleared every lockout—while the guilds that jumped ship to CS keep trying to poach from us since no Americans want to raid at 3am.
Our mage healer is rank 1 in the WORLD and at the same time we have no items on our Auction House. We do not value gold here anymore.

Could Blizzard have handled this better? Sure, but we’re used to their “choices.” We’ve formed The Order of Shadowstrike, a pact that keeps our realm strong, and we don’t need to convince anyone to join. Just know we’re still here, thriving as ever.

Thanks for sharing. Glad you’re keeping the server alive, and are enjoying yourself. Classic Seasonal for me has been the most fun I’ve had with WoW since Classic Wrath, Classic BC, And Classic Era which is still around.

Ah, we got roped into this “classic+” setup, didn’t we? Hook, line, and sinker. But here on Shadowstrike, we’ve carved out something real. The Order of Shadowstrike, Midnight, Ratchet Rum Company—some of the finest people you’d ever meet. We’re not like the GDKP/RMT/Boosting frenzy over on Whitemane (and now Crusader Strike) we’re here because we care about the spirit of the realm.
Classic was not designed with the Auction House or Megaservers in mind.

You won’t see many players online until it’s raid night, which does breed some existentialism. Maybe 15 of us on a regular evening, all pitching in, helping each other reach those last elusive goals. But come raid night? Shadowstrike’s alive and kicking.

Heh, the latest phase feels like Blizzard is pushing us to want to transfer. We still won’t, we’ll do without. But not having the AH is pretty tough for all this new Cenarion stuff. Logistics quests are going to be rough. Making summoning bindings is tough, too.

What’s tough is I feel like we’re also in an informational dark age, what’s up with that? Wowhead still can’t tell me where to get spiked silithid chitin. My little guild can get into AQ10 but there’s no way anyone on LL Horde is ever getting into the Temple, so just like the other larger raids if it’s more than reasonable for a 10-man we can’t consider it on a progression roadmap.

The Cenarion Circle stuff is amazing though, just a but unreasonable when there is no AH. Wish us luck 5-manning Ruins

I just logged in to look. There were people from the guild Scarab Lord online on that realm level 60s.
