As the title says, my brother and I made some guild banks to stock up on resources for professions in anticipation of making new toons to level them on in Cataclysm. Many hours and a lot of gold were put into gathering the mats and expanding these guild banks, so that we wouldn’t have to worry about it and could just have fun leveling them and experiencing the new content. Was all of that time utterly wasted by this decision made without any input from us?
As a side note… We LIKE our low pop server. We can relax and do things at our own pace without having to fight a million people to gather and do quests. Why were we given no choice in the matter? Why should we be forced to leave our ‘home’ away from home without a say?
Was all of our effort in vain? Please don’t tell me that’s the case. Again, much time and effort was put into trying to make things easier on us in the new expansion, so we could spend more time enjoying the new content. Will we keep our guild banks when we are forced to move?
As of right now, no, we will not keep our guilds OR our guild banks when we move. Gold spent on bank tabs won’t be refunded. Unless they change their policy (stated in their FAQ that guild leaders and guild banks cannot transfer), the only way you can keep the stuff you have in your guild bank is to stuff all your bags, make more alts and provide them with bags to stuff, too, and transfer as much as you can carry that way. Don’t forget to remove any gold in the bank, too!

Probably, but someone else pointed out that Cata is the time when paid guild transfers opened on Retail. So there is a chance. However, you should expect to not have the guilds transferred.

Blizzard should address this i can bet more the 70% of the pop has a guild bank of there own
I agree a lot of time and gold put into my guild bank as well not happy at all about being forced off little alone losing my guild bank …not happy
They have not provided a mechanism for transferring your guild so you will lose your guild and all of the gold you sank into expanding your guild bank.
Thanks for the good news. Maybe they will figure a way but then they couldn’t even fix the dungeon que for Love is in the Air or they didn’t want to.
You’ll lose your guild bank. As gm during two server migrations I liquidated what I could and stacked everything else on officers and trusted raiders
Hey Blue! Why are we not being compensated for the 9K Gold that we spent to buy the Guild Bank tabs? We did not request these transfers, this is to help out the company. When are we going to see someone step up and take accountability? You want players to move to Cata, u need to be stepping up.
I just tried to move my alt guild bank GL and it said I have to transfer the guild leadership to transfer
