Yes, I know this wasn’t added until Wrath so no need to say that in the comments. I am wondering this simply because I and thousands of others want to both PvP and PvE, which for a lot of classes require completely different specs. I know I personally won’t want to drop 100g a week to PvP during the week and raid during the weekend. That is just a huge gold sink. So is this something Blizzard is thinking about adding? It would make many people happy and save a hassle without affecting the gameplay etc. Also if tanks and healers want to do something other than tank and heal this would be nice.
Wasn’t added until wotlk.
No chNges.
Looks like you have your answer.
Nope, respect costs actually act as a economy “gold sink”, thats why the system was designed how it was designed.
If you wanna swap, you gotta pay.
This was added in the Wrath Pre-patch during TBC.
It is not something that will be added.
I think this will have repercussions in removing value and tradeoffs of hybrid builds.
dual spec is bad. If you can switch specs whenever you want, the talent system means nothing.
Wasn’t added until wrath
No. Farm Gold. Making gold isn’t -that- hard contrary to what people believe.
This would be a good addition to classic and would have little to no actual impact on what makes classic a lot of fun. If Blizzard were looking for low hanging fruit to bring QoL changes to the game, this would definitely be one of them.
Talents will still have meaning and the respec cost can still apply; however, this would bring a little more flexibility to hybrid classes that have extremely underdeveloped talent trees and niche usability without making drastic changes to the game to fix them.
w r o n g .
LOL another change post.
I can tell you have put a lot of thought and effort into your reply. So much so that we should probably not discuss it further.
There’s already a way to change your talents in Classic. Adding another way to change your talents is completely unnecessary.
Dual spec doesn’t allow you to change specs whenever you want. It allows you to have two static specs that you can swap between. If you want to switch around your talents within those specs, you still have to go to the trainer and pay to respec.
I’m not convinced that dual spec should be added, but I’m also not sure it would create any real problems if it were.
but you just did!
no changes
In his defense, it is tiresome to continually have to point out the obvious ramifications of dual-spec on the gold economy. You need gold sinks to prevent runaway inflation. People have whined constantly about the negative impact of layering on the gold economy. Removing a significant gold sink like this would cause further problems.
Gold sinks are GOOD for long-term server health, even if they’re not enjoyable to the individual player at the time.
talent respect starts off cheap and maxes out at 50g. it quite literally takes me 20-30 minutes of gathering herbs/ore around EPL to make that 50g.
just think of it as a reason to go out and keep farming gold and materials.
Man I was confused…took like ten posts to realize we weren’t discussing warrior talents.
Sure. Do you think that talent respec costs are the only form of gold sinks in the game? Also, do you think that there can only be two outcomes… either we have talent respec costs in the game, as they are, or the entire gold sink structure of WoW Classic is dissolved?
