Since hating on World of Warcraft is mainstream does anyone think the upcoming expansion will be review bomb hard?
The “review bomb” is a dumb meme made by people that can’t accept they mad a bad product.
If it’s bad, it’ll get bad reviews. If it’s good, it’ll probably get relatively decent reviews.
I don’t think so. To be review bombed, you need a very big community spiting on the game at the same time. I think the major problem of DF is it’s retention capabilities, but the start of the expansion is very nice. So if there’s bad review, it will probably be after 1-3 month if they don’t put the first patch on PTR to feed the hype cycle. But even then, those review will be too spread in time to really affect the overall note.
That happens everytime a new thing is released.
Meh theres times where its clearly malicious review bombing. Like Monster Hunter World getting review bombed on Steam from chinese players after a translation goof happened for the live action movie. So they thought a dumb joke was a big racist joke aimed at them.
Even after this line of dialogue got edited out of the movie the bombs didn’t stop
Lmao yeah that’s why Ms Marvel was swamped by 1 star reviews before it even came out.
Review metrics are useless now thanks to butt-hurt losers that can’t deal with characters in their franchises that aren’t white males.
Those kinda reviews can be useful if you’re a spiteful individual like me lol.
Folks complaining something is “woke” ? I’m now curious. I would watch She Hulk but I ain’t super interested in Hulk lore
It’s actually great if you can accept the fact that it’s a lawyer comedy and not a dramatic superhero action show. Many people went in expecting the latter, despite it being very clear about what it is. It has very little to do with the Hulk (he literally leaves the planet in the second episode).
Ye. i was also curious about the cg because for a fully cg model its doing pretty dang good tv show quality wise. So I mostly just see gifs on tumblr. I know that doesn’t show the quality too much but its still neat.
Hulk based lore I should say. So even another person dealing with Hulk struggles is just “eh when is Loki coming back? Not yet? I’ll wait.”
Of course it will. But not just because hating on WoW is a thing but also because of hating on Activision.
Don’t like how Activision handled Diablo Immortal? Take out the frustration on another product they own by tanking it’s score.
Don’t like how Activision handled Overwatch and it’s sequel? Take out the frustration on another product they own by tanking it’s score.
Sure it may feel good, but all the bombing does is give something for Youtubers to yak about.
The fact anyone listens to reviews is weird to me.
Like, no one knows if you are going to like something. Reviewing a game, which is subjective, is silly.
Reviews make sense for things that have a purpose, like a can opener or a food processor. Cause you can review how well it did it.
People shouldn’t be able to drop bad reviews day one unless they were registered as a person that got an advance review code or something. That whole TLOUII debacle where 10’s of thousands of bad reviews were dropped before the game even came out was insane, all of the good reviews have kinda leveled it out now but it did a lot of damage early on.
The people that rate games on Metacritic or whatever should only be able to do so if their Steam account/Bnet account or whatever is linked and they’re proven owners+players.
I knew it was that going into it. Still though, I didn’t care for it. So I stopped watching and moved on with my life. And it does me no harm that so many people love it.
Not really, there are objectively good and bad things. The gameplay can be reviewed. How smooth and fluid it is. The performances. Stuff like that. Whether or not you like the game is up to you, but the reviews will at least give you some useful informations that will prevent you from spending 60$ on game that keeps crashing or other problems like that.
Tell that to the 3 games with a 4.5/5 I’ve bought in the past 2 months that had reviews saying all the things I like, but that I am now struggling to force myself to play through right now so I get my money’s worth.
I don’t like Red Dead Redemption 2. Played 1 hour and almost died of boredom. I still can understand the very good reviews it has. It’s a well crafted product and that’s a fact. But like I said the appreciation is up to you.
I’m the opposite. I genuinely don’t understand the good reviews the games got. Lol.
Whatever the epic streamers tell people to do is probably what’ll happen. I remember all the dudebros saying they’d boycott mop over pandas and ending up missing out on the best expansion, so that was fun.
No. People like Asmongold will slam it back to back and call it terrible soon after launch as soon as he is done praising it. That is what he does. Asmongold is the character that he plays online as well in his YT vids. And he will do it just to get views and clicks. People make lots more money by giving bad reviews than by giving good reviews…proven fact.
