Will classic server get expacks?

This is only fair since retail servers got expacks. It would be nice if classic got some love too.

I don’t think so. At that point you would have two WoW mmorpg running at the same time. Dividing and canabilizing each others player base. It would also mandate drawing resources from other areas, or highering additional staff.

ActiBlizz has stated they are focusing on shoring up there core franchises. I think they just view classic like wc3 reforged. One off remasters for low investment high return cash grabs.

Blizzard will most likely have BC and WoTLK servers over time

Dunno. But you should ask in the Classic forum. That’s what it’s there for.

…but then it wont be classic anymore.

I believe they’ve specified that they will be stopping “updates” to Vanilla at a certain patch (although I do not recall which patch they said, I know it’s going at least as far as AQ40).

Doing expansions on the Classic servers would be a bit counterproductive though, imo. The whole draw of Classic is that it isn’t retail. It’s the original version of the game, simply updated to be compatible with modern system frameworks.

They already got expansion packs. Just the fact that classic exists is “getting some love”.

In before a wannabe MVP lets you know where you can put this post.

or so I thought…

Just for you. Since its apparent plenty of people don’t understand how forums work!

“Fair” lol, Classic is meant to be a snapshot of Vanilla WoW, since people have been asking for one a long time ago.

Adding expansions would be stupid, because we’d eventually have BfA and other stuff.

People really need to think what they post these days

Classic is classic. If it gets expacs it is no longer classic.

Neet O!
So when do you get your green text?

Classic is barebones wow. Just as requested. An expansion for it is counterintuitive.

If only being an MVP had the bare minimum requirements of “understanding how forums work”, we’d have so many green texters!

Unfortunately, “having a middle school reading level” is not the only requirement.

Absolutely not. Because then people would complain classic isn’t classic. Classic is meant for one thing and one thing only. 1-60 as it was back in the day. Nothing more, nothing less.

Edit: And further, while I have nothing against classic (I intend on playing it casually considering I already did it once), I would prefer resources go into making retail a better experience.

Oh the irony, it taste like cake!

It is!

Imagine having that much sand in your underwear for no other reason than people cordially directing someone with a question about a specific topic to the subforum that is literally designed for that specific topic!

Its like if you had a question about druids and posted in GD, people may direct you to the druid forums!

Its just crazy!

Classic getting expansions would defeat the purpose of being Classic.

Classic will stay as classic WoW no expansions will take place afterwards.
Maybe just maybe in the future they might do BC and WotLK legacy realms but only time will tell.
