update: We are now seeing players being automatically banned for abusive chat trying to craft binding of bindings. “Crafting cartel” is mass reporting. Automated denial appeals are being sent out with 7 day wait time. Unacceptable practice from blizzard this CAN NOT continue
I think its no secret at least where I come from in the pvp community that the abusive chat report button is regularly abused when a player is disgruntled and blizzard on multiple occasions has banned people for things as simple as saying “x is bad” for reference with zero chance of appeal. Battleground blitz coming out and likely being very popular this problem will only grow. Socializing and strategy is a large part of battlegrounds and at the moment players should be afraid as we are already seeing behavior warnings being handed out to people being mass reported simply for calling strategies that result in a loss. No player should be aloud to target others in harassment or toxicity no exceptions. Reporting or calling others to report simply because you lost a game is targeting and IS harassing players.
Before further accusations are made please note below:
I am under zero disciplinary action this is not an appeal this is a discussion

9 times out of 10, people who post this sort of thing have done a bit more than ‘nothing’ to justify their chat bans.
Anyway, this isn’t the place to appeal disciplinary actions.

First off I am under zero disciplinary action this is a discussion about socializing in a new game mode that will be immensely popular plain and simple. I dont appreciate you assuming things and attempting to hijack and have this thread shut down.

99% of the time the person sperging in chat is a trashcan.

Hello, it seems as you have never participated in rated pvp content! Hey thats fair just let me know before you barge in obnoxiously. Rated battlegrounds require strategy and communication as its far less trivial than a heroic dungeon. Unfortunately when said strategy and communication fails players are abusing a report button with zero consequence and as we have seen in the pvp community suspensions have been handed out without just cause often the “crime” being far less than the abusers that triggered it

Don’t a douche in chat and you will have zero issues.

We have had players eat suspensions in bgs with the proof coming back as saying “x is bad” This could be anything from a specialization, class, strategy,a certain flag on x bg map etc. So no this isnt always the case

This is like my 5th WoW account I’ve done plenty of PvP. It was basically the only reason I played for 10 years. That said. Communication isn’t sperging. Having some idiot sperg about blacksmith while I’m 5 capping and camping the alliance spawn point is always funny to me. Those are the people who get in trouble because they are too focused on pointless communication instead of playing the proven strategies for ancient maps well.

Calling a player bad in chat is a violation of the code of conduct you agreed to…
It was not nothing,it was a violation.

Ahh i see you are a part of the problem an abuser. People are going to have different ideas about whats effective and what isnt, you arent the tsar of pvp strategy sorry to break that to you. So if someone simply disagrees with your strategy this doesnt mean they are sperging or an “idiot” which by the way is a bannable in game but not on the forums coincidentally. It also doesnt give you any right to label them as such and abuse the report button. This is the last post I share with an abuser like yourself that this topic was specifically made about.

How do they have proof that it was “x is bad” that got them suspended? Normally it requires a number of flags to even get it sent to the GMs. While people may claim it was a singular incident, normally it’s a pattern of behavior that adds up over time that earns it.
There are numerous threads in the CS and GD forums where people claim they got suspended for this one thing before a CS rep comes in with a large list of what they were actually reported for. In fact, one happened a couple days ago where a player claimed he got suspended for a disagreement in chat and the CS rep said it was actually due to slurs and toxic behavior.

You’re just trolling lmao.
PS. I’ve only ever reported people in BGs/arena for afk or intentionally throwing.
Gonna add that when I see people being toxic in chat I put them on ignore.
Then I never have to see their words again.
You can do it here too. Like I just did to the op.

I say this should be taken to the Support forums.
Mind you, the Support GMs do have a tendency to lay everything out publicly. Good and Bad actions. So if this was really one of those “really rare” occasions that wasn’t warranted, it will be reverted, and if the off chance it was warranted. Pucker up for having the entire “discussion” you had made visible.

Appeals are immediately met with a automated denial and response. Consecutive appeals have been met with chat logs. There is chat logs with “bad” being the trigger and PLENTY with “idiot” that apparently is not against ToS as its used across this forum without consequence. Of course theres a million people who say this and actually did break the rules however this is not always the case nor is it rare thing. There is individuals with proof including myself and there is plenty of streamers that have been auto banned on mass reports and only reinstated because of who they were plenty of times.

If you doing that in a BG , no one wants to hear that and no one will listen
Again as the third post in this topic stated, I am under zero disciplinary action this is not an appeal this is a discussion about an issue rampant in battlegrounds that will become an even larger problem very soon. Please read before you make bold accusations.

Idiot and bad are against ToS I got banned for calling somebody an idiot because I wouldn’t flag carry while I was top of the leaderboards.
Other people should be putting in work too. That said, you live, and learn, and make a new account.
