I’m curious if Blizzard has any plans to optimize the game engine to improve overall performance. It would be great if they could leverage AI to assist in the optimization process, especially if traditional methods are too time-consuming. Does anyone have any insights or thoughts on this?
Oh yeah, the AI will “optimize” it. Definitely.
The engine is updated every expansion. I’m unsure what type of optimization you’re looking for, so I can’t comment on that specifically.
Fun fact: all armor is designed on the male Human model by the art team, then given to AI to “fix” for all other races.
Tell me how well that’s worked out with all of the clipping, missing assets, bugged out pieces, etc.
I’ve never heard of that technique for other race armor fitting. It would help explain why almost all goblin female shoulder armor hovers over my shoulders by a few feet…
Improved multithreading, GPU utilization, and memory management
They just talked about it in an interview last month. And yeah, it makes sense now as to why stuff is so messed up all the time.
World of Warcraft is too CPU heavy
Honestly the fact you brought Ai into this shows you have zero idea what your talking about.
It’s a 20 year old game. All I know about computer engineering is hitting the On button to make the pretty lights go, but I’d think doing something like fixing the game engine at this point would mean making a brand new game.
No one will waste the money and resources needed to recode the game and engine. That’s why we need AI for such tasks. It’s the only solution to keep older MMOs up with the times.
