edit: geared out my Paladin and I can say with 100% certainty that honor gear is completely pointless. I unsub after I learned this (I wonder if I can edit posts without a sub)
I’m turning 38 and right now what I like to do is jump into WoW and do a few BGs and that’s about it. At the moment I have a few toons in the 51-59 bracket and I have to say I’m having an absolute blast logging in and doing a few BGs on the different toons then logging out but my toons are getting closer and closer to lvl60 and I just want to know what the experience will be like at lvl60 with nothing but Honor gear (and maybe the cheapest legendaries just to get the bonuses)
edit: I do know I will need to quest in the new zone to level up my renoun and to maybe unlock that second legendary

no. unless you’re interested in rated play to rank up the conquest set and work on your tier peices you wont enjoy random bgs at 60.

at 60 you can find another player in the 51-59 range and partysync back into that bracket.

depends on class if your a rogue or druid you can stay in stealth otherwise no damage is so high right now you will die in an instant.

depends on how much you care about being able to contribute every game
my dk that im gearing exclusively through specific queue ioc (gets no flux or conquest for wins) is 252 ilvl from 6/7 honor gear and cannot hold a base against any geared attacker
if she’s getting pocket healed and allowed to press every button it’ll feel fine, but otherwise being 250-259 ilvl vs my 285 mains really feels like im at the mercy of the other team being undergeared if i want to be able to hold quarry, which to me isn’t fun. i die before i can do significant damage to glaives as well which is also not enjoyable when the rest of the team is picking their nose not assisting with glaives
that said, if you get 4 set and have full 259 honor gear, some specs will feel fine due to how much power their set makes up for (but honor gear cant convert to tier so you’ll need to eventually upgrade your honor to conquest or do pve/ZM for sandworn relic gear)

Fully ranked honor gear is worthless, even partially ranked conquest gear is worthless which requires insane amounts of honor and actual ratings, you’re not gonna have a fun time, especially depending on the class/spec you play.

druid or rogue for stealth you can stay stealth the entire bg and get honor gank who you want to gank otherwise stay in stealth.i find staying in stealth in bgs while under geared is way less stressful and i enjoy bgs more.

Nope… You gotta do a rated or you will get smoked. You gotta go PVE to get leggos and other stupid stuff…

boas plus crafted gear can keep you very competitive until level 50. at 48 i lock my xp and start to do sl stuff. getting your covenant choice early and setting up that toon makes the 50+ levels an easier transition from the lower ilvl gear you get in bgs and “regular” bfa content.

i have had a different experience, this toon and my horde resto druid just honor capped with a conquest item. no rated, no legos.
resto druid survives better than the misty monk. but I can and do make a difference. maybe healers have it different. i’m actually having fun.

LOL…I’m turning older than that but I feel your pain. I’d love to just be able to log in after work, crack a cold one if I may, and just fight.
Unfortunate the game just isn’t designed that way as it once was.
They really need to clean up these systems upon systems and stop locking players behind this and that.
What they are doing right now caters to the “no-lifers”…no offense…but hurts the casuals whom are the very lifeblood of the game. Or at least, they used to be before they vanished.
For the sake of the long term of WoW, they need to incentivize new players to participate instead of worrying about us old farts, LOL.

you can turn conquest piecess (unranked) into tier pieces. My warlock and shaman on retail are about 260 ilvl (i think) and do well in pvp.
They are pretty fine imo, my hunter do pretty fine in surviability and damage wise, my friends shaman can make very huge bursts, almost one shotting some people and only has honor gear too, the whole 259. Its enough to get around 30% vers, 30% haste and/or 30% crit and just do fine.
The bad part is doing pve for legendaries though, i find it tedious.
Do not listen people about how good low level pvp is btw, its horrendous. Almost every match you have twinks exploiting XP debuff to stay there in the bracket indefinately, a lot of classes or specs barely works whitout conduits either, really no point in focusing it, specially if you have like a druid lol.
If you want to partake on it by all means focus on making a twink or dont even lose your time with anything else lol. I suggest MM hunter, fury warr with double crusader enchant is cool too and frost\arcane mage is pretty strong, never played a twink fire, so you can enjoy 1 shotting people there all day whitout having to put up a setup or the enemies simple have no access of their defensive skills yet.
Nah, not only for healers, all classes with the 259 gear and 265/262 leggos will do almost as good as the would in full 285.(same ilvl difference from blue set of mop to conq set of mop btw lol) if you got the leggos as a detro lock you can legit already 2 shot people with fully upgraded honor.
level 60 pvp mostly sucks because frankly Horde players seem to have forgotten how to even spell PVP. ; ) It’s bad. I had more fun queueing up with a buddy with a level 54 toon on my level 60. Lot more fun in the 50-59 bracket.
“do well” sounds like a 30% win rate and hoping actual geared players are in games to carry.

edit: actually if the bracket is 50-59 then you can use a class trial and jump right into the BGs. You are limited to what specs you can play (pretty much only DPS) but this might be an option
no. you’re suggesting a trial toon with a 68 ilvl play against me and my friends with 115 ilvl or higher(130-135).
7k hp vs 20k+.
sync into 40-49 or 51-59 not 50.

I think people are exaggerating, if you have full honor upgraded aspirant gear with both legos you should be ok. I wouldnt take on 1v1s with people who are clearly in duelist gear but it shouldnt feel miserable in a bg setting especially if you’re playing objectively. The biggest losing factor for bad players in bgs is being in the wrong place, doesnt matter how good your gear is if you’re not in the right place at the right moment. Gear matters more in arena because of the death match nature.
