With the arms buffs comin will it be better than fury in dungeons and raids?
According to warcraft logs (95th percentile/heroic) Arms is already better than Fury in raid, and Fury and Arms are on close to eachother in m+.
In raids-
On overall damage Fury is second to last only beating Fire Mage, Arms is bottom third of all dps.
On boss damage Fury is second to last only beating Windwalker Monk, Arms is #6
In m±
Fury is 14th and Arms is 17th.
With the buffs I expect Arms to be better than Fury in every aspect of the game.
I will stick to Fury. Arms has always been a snoozefest for me personally.
Each to their own though!, I know a lot of Arms players that haven’t switched since MoP.
Although shortly after my response they posted buffs for fury in 10.0.5 so who knows.
New buffs added to 10.0.5, check wowhead. Fury is getting the much needed buffs. * Fury

Developers’ notes: Despite a strong start to Season 1, Fury’s performance has fallen behind where we’d like it to be. 10.0.5 will see some minor changes to their talent tree but these are more related to encouraging build diversity than providing more throughput so we’re making some additional changes to help their damage output.
Fury is overall, better than arms. The only thing arm excel at over fury is pure single target or pure aoe fight.
So fights like primal council and terros. But every other fight, it’s far better off for the raid to have a fury warrior than an arms warrior since fury have better survivabilty and versatility in their dps kit.
That goes for keys too as fury outperforms arms in overall dps while having better survivability and doesnt rely on the other 2 dps to carry boss damage.
Academy is the only dungeon where arms would be better than fury due to their capped aoe and the amount of large pulls required in that key so arms aoe contribution actually outweights the lack of boss damage.
But with the upcoming changes. Arms do seems to be better than fury in everyway.
I like fury better in every way except animations. If i could have fury’s playstyle while using a single 2hander life would be grand.
The issue with Arms right now, is that it is very dependent on tier and has issues with the talent tree. Right now it is very difficult to have both AoE and ST. If you focus on AoE, your ST is dumpster, you focus on ST, your AoE is dumpster. Thankfully, this is all getting fixed with 10.0.5.
SS baseline, Improved MS baked into MS node, with the extra points it just allows us more flexibility!
In PvP already is.
In the original Bonegrinder build, yes, you lacked serious ST damage and were more about burst AoE. Once Arms got 4 pc, you could sub out Bonegrinder for the Hybrid Cleave Exploiter Spec and do substantially more ST damage with strong AoE Sustain, often being the class that carried Boss Fights (atleast my experience in 15-18s), especially Tyrannical weeks.
With the new changes and ability to now make a much more cohesive M+ build thanks to node changes and improved pathways, i believe Arms will outperform fury in every way and all areas of content when played at a decent to high level.
