Problem is you care more about honor-per-hour than you do about just having fun playing the BG and gaining whatever honor comes from that playing.
If people viewed AV as an epic bg game mode and just had fun. AV would be more fun. But all Alli do is “care about honor per hour” so they just race to npcs for a quick win in a pvp battleground. When it doesnt work, they /afk. That playstyle is not fun. Especially when repeated nonstop for weeks.

Nope. Ab will change nothing.
No. Unless you 5cap consistently it will not even come close. 5 capping is actually somewhat unreliable even as a premade. I don’t think you’ll be able to do it consistently enough to make it work. Especially on Alliance with instant AV queues available.
It worked for us in Vanilla because we could get 2 or 3 AB matches in before an AV queue would even pop.

On an AV weekend…maaaaybe. But maybe not even then if you’re not 5-Capping. On any other day, absolutely not. So 3 days every 3 weeks AB MIGHT be better.

It’s not all alliance that think that. But we have to complete with those that do for ranking. So, we’re kinda force to do the same or be left behind the grind.
The is our version of phase 2. =)

Yeah, rushing and ending games in 8mins or less are really pissing off horde that have 30+min queues. =)

Too bad you all are actively trying to avoid pvp. It’s not a good look in a pvp battleground.

Is it so hard to understand that most of us dont want this type of pvp. We warned blizzard not to release 1.12 version of AV. The hand full of try hards that are grinding 1.4mil honor and forcing the normal people to do the same to keep up with the grind.
Once again, I will warned you that once AB comes out your AV queues will be even longer.
Nope. Here are your options: 1) Settle for whatever rank you can achieve by playing the battlegrounds you enjoy, or 2) Spend months of your life in misery until you maybe achieve your desired rank.
If ur talking to me. I dont care about ranks in the current meta, maybe it will change in a couple of months. I have deranked on my mage and on my alt hunter less then 2 days of play time have hit 90% into rank4.

Doubtful. You get the same amount of honor for winning AB as you do WSG. In my experience it’s easier for pugs to resist a premade in AB than WSG.
I am replying just so others will see your post. It’s super obvious, yes, but a lot of us feel compelled to just chain AV and go for “fast wins” to just keep up. I, and many of my friends, have no desire or interest in getting rank 14. But I would at least like rank 11-12, which I got playing casually in Vanilla.
Last week I did AV whenever I had free time (one night off for New Years + work, one off for travelling) but spent most of my free time in AV. Ended up with ~ 265k honor which in vanilla was a ridiculous amount. That barely put me in the top 100 and didn’t even raise my rank from 6->7 (despite having a MASSIVE amount of honor the prior week).
With honor decay, if you take even a few days off to do suboptimal farming, you are likely to LOSE RANKS instead of just not gaining them with the current system. Many of us hate it as much as casuals / Horde / others, but we have “realistic” goals in mind that are requiring unrealistic commitment because of botters and instant queues.

I gave my grind when the second week I had 350k honor and I didn’t even rank up. That was insane to me and almost made me quit. I just decided to take my time and wait out the try hards. Hopefully it get somewhat easier in a couple of months.

I fully plan on playing AB regardless of the HPH. I enjoyed the way AB played regularly and always hated AV in vanilla. Since I’m already exalted I’ve started already going towards WSG and only do AV while I’m watching videos online so that i can have something to do while waiting for horde to show up to defend towers.
The horde are scared to PvE in a PvE battleground.
