Either Sylvanas gets redeemed, or she dies/leaves, and the Alliance spares the Horde. Neither option looks pleasing, but will that be the last straw for players?
Redemption for Sylvanas will be fine with me so long as she's gone afterwards. Everyone else can exalt her for whatever her sacrifice is, I won't.
Forget the outcome, I'm just tired of being accessory to the Horde's story.
It was crystal clear when the PR after Teldrassil wasn't "Don't worry Alliance, justice is coming" it was "Aww, I'm sowwy Howde. Don't wowwy, you awen't actuawwy bad guys. This stowy is about da Howde finding itsewf again. :3c"
inb4 someone comes in to say the same of the "Alliance stories" before, (see: neutral content) as if saving Azeroth doesn't benefit the Horde too.

At this point, I don’t really care about this particular story either way.
Sylvanas could become a god that subjugates the world for all I care. Nothing makes sense anymore so there’s no telling where we’re going.
I just want it to be 9.1 already.

Why would blue players want to quit? Pretty much all of your characters are alive and well, you always have the moral high ground, and in 8.1, you’re giving the Horde a really good spanking.
Regardless of outcome, chances are, all of your characters are still going to be alive for the next expansion. Team Red on the other hand can cross two more off the list.....

Because a garbage story is still a garbage story. This tit-for-tat checklist mentality is part of the reason the factions are bad. The reasons I canceled my sub are:
-Characters' personalities changing on a dime to fit the current plot, past characterization be damned.
-Related to that, things willfully being ignored by the writers, who have admitted as such, but not given a reason in-story, like the Genedar.
-Character motivations just plan not making sense, like Rexxar's "Jaina killed too many" (when?) or Sylvanas's "start war to stop war."
-Repeat of MoP seemingly down to the letter. Or even worse than that, Kerrigan 2.0.
-Old god bull!@#$. Knew it was coming, planned from the start to unsub as soon as it came to the forefront.
-Zandalari suffering loss after loss after loss in 8.0 and 8.1. So much for a troll hype expansion.
When my sub expires I'm not renewing it. There's just no enjoyment right now. Blizzard has mishandled a lot of stuff for the Alliance. The Story hasn't been mishandled anywhere nearly as bad as with the Horde, but most of our Allied Races are garbage.
I'll return for Pathfinder, but otherwise, I'll wait to see what the next expansion brings.

What did you guys expect? If you think that Blizzard didn't make the Horde evil to make you the noble heroes, you have blinders on. This story is exactly what Horde players didn't want (and said so in numerous posts) and it has devastated motivation for a lot of Horde players. (No matter how much you try to tell us what we are thinking.)
But now you have started thinking about the end and realized, as much as Blizzard has reduced the Horde to being the foes for the Alliance story, it is still true that a) the hero's story depends on what the villains do, and b) they can't actually give you everything and let you just destroy the Horde. So they won't ignore the Horde, this meme that the Horde gets more story just boggles the mind (false choices between bad and worse not withstanding), and in the end the Horde will still be there mostly as it was. It was you going on about being the good guys and how that is how it should be got you, enjoy.
So we are getting Garrosh 2.0. If you guys were willing to actually be the bad guys (which I would have loved) then all the Forum posts the expressed outrage that any Alliance character might have done something wrong or that the Alliance might not be the good guys did you in.
In the end, however, given that I wish the Horde story wasn't so bad that I can't even dream about being concerned just about how much we win, or whatever else the Alliance complains, I have no sympathy and that you are trying to claim to be the ones who are wronged only makes it worse.
Now I already unsubscribed until a friend talked me back. And I can't help notice players missing from my guild who dropped out of this expansion. So maybe we will all unsubscribe and game will just die. But if you think Blizzard is going to screw the Horde over for your story (again) and not have twice the backlash you guys are talking about, you are dreaming.

As a exclusively alliance player from the start there is really only two scenarios where the story goes that I would find it unacceptable and unsubscribe. 1. The Alliance is wiped out as a whole 2. I am ask to compromise my personal ethical/moral standing in the game. I have no doubt that someday my resolve in #2 will be tested. Too many horde crybabies wining about the Alliance and their high horse needing to be taken down a peg. It will happen. But until then I will grind away.
At this point, I'm exclusively playing to raid with friends. The story does not hold any interest for me anymore. Maybe sometimes I'll enjoy some story stuff, but... For the most part, I just don't care anymore.
I never use the word "quit" because I'm not a drama queen.
I did stop playing though. I honestly hit the level cap early and had that feeling of "Oh? So this is it then. You just want me to do world quests and dungeons and stuff again."
It's just not fun anymore. Blizzard needs to shake it up.
And it's not even an MMO thing. I play FFXIV, and all of the grinds in that game are enjoyable. There's gameplay associated with crafting; I don't feel punished for leveling an alt, ever -- because my progress on that alt is permanent. It's just a better designed progression system, and systems remain relevant even after the expansion they've been introduced in.
I've also been trying out ESO, and while the grind isn't as good as FFXIV (and I doubt the PvE is either to be honest), the open world is pretty good and the character customization is staggeringly complex and interesting. PvP looks like it's pretty good in the game too, though I haven't tried it yet.
And both games have player housing, which is something so fundamental to the genre these days that it is frankly embarrassing that Blizzard still doesn't even care about it.

As an Alliance player I don't want to be noble, I want to win. But short of Shaw and Wyrmbane enacting a coup and Jaina becoming Edgy Purge of Dalaran/Tides of War Jaina again I don't see that happening.
I don't know many Alliance players who care about being good/noble/virtuous. Maybe Blizzard has an echochamber as to what they *think* Alliance players want, reality be damned.

I'm only here for the raiding, horde side. The story is trash on both sides.

You and people who post like you, blue side included, ARE THE REASON we can never reach a unified voice or consensus. You’re so delved deep into the Red vs Blue mentality that anything _Blank_ might hate, the guys on the otherside of the fence must be absolutely enjoying it.
For example, let us go way into the past. Someplace that’ll sound familiar to the current atmosphere; Siege of Org. You remember that? You remember your time on red side fighting with Vol’jin and getting the rebellion underway? Fighting for the ‘right’ Horde when the last Warchief was spun on his head to be the villain.
Do you know what the Alliance had to deal with? Robo-cat. Anyone around back then could tell you about Robo-cat and the following conversation with Vol’jin. Though let me tell you; That was the most unenjoyable moment in Alliance story telling and content history. In no way, shape or form, did any Alliance player want to deal with Siege of Org or the rebellion before it. That was ALL Horde content, no matter how much you cut it or try to spin it. The only thing that reminded us that the Alliance was there, was that STUPID cutscene at the end with Varien warning Vol’jin and co.
Look, I understand you’re upset. I understand you’re lashing out at anyone that has a blue background, even going so far as to make broad and wide statements but you’re not winning any points by laying blame on the people who happen to be on blue side, likewise for the people who solely blame the Horde too.
We let the Horde go Goku-style without either:
1) Sylvanas' head on a plate.
2) A signed agreement that they're sorry they screwed up and knocking this crap off for good.

No, I wouldn't think so. There do have to be some tempered expectations when it comes to this story, because ultimately there are two factions. You cannot have the narrative completely destroy and entire half of the player base; no matter how much of a power fantasy you want to create for yourself.
Personally, if I had the option, I would have the Horde offer Sylvie up on a golden platter to the NE's as an olive branch (with BOTH of her remaining lives in tact). That way, they could have twice their fun with her. However, I doubt that's ever going to happen (and vengeance stories never end well in Warcraft anyway).
Likely, she's going to betray the Horde at some point and she's going to bail on them; leaving them with the check for this war. Whatever her personal objectives are with this war (with Xal's dagger, with the Masters' Glave) she's not going to risk it or her life trying to hold a position she exploits, but never wanted.
Beyond that, I have no doubt that Saurfang will do some things to redeem himself with both sides (and yes, with the Kaldorei as well). It wont ever make up for his mistakes, but I can see him having a bit of a Brox arc within the future narrative (which sucks, I like the Old Orc, but he's likely to die at some point).

I'm just waiting to see where they take the Night Elves from here.
I can even accept them not reclaiming Kalimdor by the end of BfA, if they're shown to still be fighting for it in some way. The Kaldorei throwing their hands in the air and being like "Welp... We just live in the Eastern Kingdoms now." is my quit condition.

i only see two scenarios where i would quit the game.
1)jaina being killed in a random way, probably the only character that i truly care about, everyone else can become a void servant for all what i care, but if her death is well done, then i can accept that.
2)alliance losing the war. nothing would be more infuriating that losing against a MiLiTaRy GenIus who only wins because blizzard loves to lobotomize every other character to make her seem smart, she isn't.
i can accept sylvanas being redeemed or killed, because i literally don't care about her, it would be great if nelfs got some kind of revenge, but even if they don't get justice,it wouldn't be enough to make me quit the game.
Blizzard has done and incredibly good job in making me hate the main plot.
faction war is the worst. and making me stop caring because i know that if i expect too much, i am going to be disappointed.
