BFA doesn’t need saving, it needs for it to be not compared to Vanilla 24/7 that’s all. But that would be asking too much.

Two zones and a revamp of one system are no where near enough to salvage the expansion; imo, this is rock bottom. Not saying WoW is dead, because it won’t be dead for a while still, but the story has never been worse, the gameplay has been lackluster, there is no drive to invest in either faction at all -it’s just a mess.

One patch can’t save it.

IMO, what is needed to save it is a massive overhaul in the way that they drive their content, and the narrative. Less ridiculous, massive story arcs, and a heightened focus on smaller stories that players can more meaningfully invest in. Slamming the same six characters into a god awful plot where their personalities and developed backstories are trashed for the sake of shock and awe (Teldrassil), is making things much worse.

Delivering content that isn’t chock full of AI’s and nothing else would also be grand, as would having progression systems for leveling and end game that feel engaging, and not just some flimsy necklace or weapon getting points every time I turn in a quest.

An overhaul to the world so we can get the hell out of the same three zones would be nice, and engaging more races and their cultures/stories/side adventures.

Better transmog systems would also be nice. As would the bloody worgen models we were assured of, which are five damn years late and not a single update has yet come out since we got a poor quality image at their convention.

I don’t even know/care what 8.2 is about other than we get flying, so I can’t say one way or the other.

It’s up to the game developers. Every expansion they try something new, with everything, without taking forward what actually works, and it hurts the game, the community and themselves. One day they should be able to get it right, but it’s not in 8.2.

a massive overhaul wont happen infact i bet we will have the exact same systems in the next xpac same wq’s,m+ and invasions.

Oh I don’t doubt it at all. I’ve checked out for the most part; I’m done with Blizzard’s lazy approach to the game, and their disregard for the well being of the community and the narrative. Don’t really have any hope at all left for me sticking around.

It makes sense when you consider more than 50% of internet users are parrots.

That’s kind of the issue, there is nothing really new compared to legion except warfronts and islands… Wooo… And the things they did bring from legion are a worse version.

Nah BFA is done, nothing in 8.2 is going to fix how terrible the classes play now or the initial bad taste BFA left in players mouths. BFA is going to continue to bleed subs until 9.0 when Blizzard decides to double down on stupid decisions again and make the next expansion for shareholder rather then the WOW players.

No, it won’t save the game. Saving the game will likely require nothing short of 2-3 good expansions in a row and that’s highly unlikely.

its sad . This game had so much life left in it , but activision did their best to kill that. Now Wow is just a shell of “what ifs” and squandered possibilities

I think essences will add a little life back into the game. They’re gonna need to add abilities to classes and each spec next expac to really bring it home though.

In my opinion to save WoW, blizzard is going to have to suck it up and pull a FF14 and do a big reset. I mean look at ff14 now, the initial game sucked ballz and was on the verge of complete collapse and Square-Enix sacked up and redeveloped the game. Now its surging with subs and is surviving on its own. WoW has been out for over a decade and is obviously aged and Blizz has gathered multitudes of data on what does and does not work and could if they put in the time, redevelope the game for the better

I doubt it, but I think classic will save them or buy them some time to fix it.

I don’t think that the actual game needs saving. If it does, that is too much to put on the shoulders of the 8.2 patch.

The expansion desperately needs saving but that is not happening in 8.2. The upcoming patch does nothing really to address the major problems with the expansion. At best, it is just reshuffling the deck.

If you are enjoying BfA, you are likely going to enjoy 8.2. However if you are not enjoying BfA, that is not going to change with 8.2.

Since Blizzard seems to think that BfA is good, the chances of it actually becoming good is almost zero. Hopefully they won’t continue this same design in the next expansion or it really will be time to start talking about what needs to happen to save the entire game.
