Will 8.2 make BFA playable?

I wanna get back into end game gearing but BFA has been nothing but nails on a chalk board for me.

I really hope that it does well! I love this game and even if I have a grudge against some of the developers I do want this game to succeed, it’s my life after all!

Anyone have faith that 8.2 will make BFA playable? I do but let’s say I’m not holding my breathe tho. I did enjoy the developer insight video but only time will tell. :woman_shrugging:

Eh? Game is playable right now. As in I can login whenever I want and play the game?

If you’re talking about the game being enjoyable, everyone is different. So many find Classic to be enjoyable and I think it’s one of the most boring versions of the game. Everyone has a different opinion about what’s enjoyable or “good” and what isn’t.

8.2 finally gives flight, and Mechagon looks promising as a time wasting island. So I’m looking forward to it.

I’m tired of being negative because I love the game but I truly don’t think it will feel any different to play until classes feel more engaging and fun again.

Nope, it’ll be fun for roughly 5-6 weeks and you’ll be bored again. Give Classic a try when it comes out if you want a good game to captivate you for a long period of time. BFA/modern WoW is like a short temporary trip to the flashy e-casino everytime a new patch comes out.

BfA is playable. If you want to level, use mining and herbalism. If you want to LfD, roll tank or healer for quick pugs (go for tank. less stress if you have high threat generation) This method will get you all things needed to continue to PuG for better gear, end game content. If you have trouble, join a relaxed guild and let them carry you until your IO score meets end-game raiding mythics etc. The only thing you need to go to Kul Tiras/Zandalar for is the repgrind.

Boo M+, I love how people consider grinding the same dungeons for 2 years weekly with gimmicky afixes is “good” content.

How is it not playable right now?

This could be said about anything in the game.

“Grinding the same bosses.”

“Grinding the same mobs.”

“Grinding the same BGs.”

M+ is the most varied content in the game. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean anything.

Disagree on M+, but raiding has never been an issue for Blizz historically.

But when every other game system around it is garbage … it diminishes people’s desire to play. Raid’s alone won’t sustain the game.

Reasons why BFA is unplayable

Azerite armor

Island expeditions

Class design (hopefully will be fixed 9.0)

World quests (drive me nuts the more I do them)

Game turned into worthless mumbo jumbo

The game is playable right now. The real question is, when you login do you automatically want to log out or actually do something? I fight that beast everyday :rofl:

I agree. Hoping 8.2 makes the grind a bit more worthwhile.

Some people like myself enjoy pushing your char and groups to the high end when you are capable of.

I felt amazing after getting my 15 keystone master this season

8.2 wont do anything to fix the major issues that caused so many to leave the game
The classes still feel terribe to play, boring and dull.
Still a ton of excessive RNG .
More rep grinding , and the story is still going no where

All 8.2 is doing is adding some new areas to “explore” and thats pretty much it . It will keep people occupied for a short while then it will go back to being dead

What i think you mean is beyond the initial novelty, will the gameplay loop be more enjoyable

I don’t know but I am pessimistic. As i have said many times, key elements of this expansion are not that enjoyable. I will assume you have finished the war campaign and rep grinds for the moment

If so

I find Island Expeditions extremely dull and the pvp mode of expeditions is largely dead. Will adding 2 islands invigorate a dull mode? I see no effect from just having a wider rotation

Warfronts are extremely repetitive with low value loot. Will a hard mode fix this? I don’t know - it depends how hard and how compelling the loot

There are new zones and a campaign but again for grinders they will chew through that and flying on 6 to 8 weeks

Class design is gutted and gear uninspired without sets and full of RNG

And basically everything else will be the same. Core PvP is gutted, professions are gutted. If you are into raiding or mythic plus you can grind the same gameplay loop until you are blue in the face but that’s not for me - you might as well just play diablo because that’s what it is short of Deckard Cain being in Boralus

The one bright spot is Mechagon and the new raid, which could be interesting, but again after 20 loops of that it will be routine too

Azerite fix could be interesting too but I’m expecting a lot for it to be meaningfully better

Playability is the wrong word. My baby’s fisher price piano is playability. The real question is what is the lasting enjoyment and novelty and I think it is very thin
