So, I am fascinated by the idea of getting some sort of dwarven druid option (seconded only by my desire for an ogre druid, but I’ll leave that alone for now). I’d seriously freak the hell out if they made that race/class combo an option, and would grind however long it took to get it.
Now, I’m an illustrator at my day job, and I am thinking about doing some quick sketches of what the forms might look like, and maybe what some of the dwarf humanoid tattoos, outfits might look like. Just for fun! Who knows, maybe we generate enough hype that they add this at some point (if they aren’t planning to already).
I just feel like the Wildhammers would make great druids; they have a huge connection to nature and the creatures they live by. The word ‘ wild ’ is in their clan name
Are you in to this idea? Do you have any ideas for cool beast forms? Maybe a rocky gryphon-bear or a stocky skyrim-esque sabertooth cat? Maybe travel-ground form is a super detailed, feather-armored mountain ram (and then an equally decorated gryphon). I dunno…I just love the idea.
Ultimately, my favorite class so far has been–by far–the druid, and my favorite races, by a huge margin, have been the dwarf clans.
I’d love some feedback though, cheers.

Hopefully. Frankly I would find it ideal if blizzard can roll out some racials and classes for these skins. Gilgoblins are also another one that should get a druidic option. If draenei get an eredar skin, it would be nice to see rogues and warlocks for them.

Holy smokes, I never thought about gilblins getting that, and I once wanted to play an eredar bad enough that I made a draenei paladin named Jaraxxus, complete with some annoying “YOU FACE JARAXXUS” type chants macro’d into his abilities. Getting a skin for that would be phenominal.
Shoot, the gilblin idea is really cooking some fun ideas in my head now too.

We already have too many Gnomes in this game. We don’t need more Dwarves- which is basically the same thing.
Let’s get some San’layn or Murlocs.

Gilblins are worshippers of the Sea Loa Graal, much closer to nature and a much more kindly spin on typical goblins which is why some kind of druid would make a lot of sense for them.
If you use the jewel of hellfire or something like that. The toy that toys you into an eredar while playing a rogue with HFC fel weapons, it looks absolutely amazing. Having eredar kinds without warlocks and rogues would constantly feel like something is missing.

We aren’t getting the wild hammer dwarves I think it’s a customization for the dwarves.
Now let’s not get too hasty although it’s welcoming to the idea and that I would love to see it. We haven’t seen any dwarf Druid in the game. But they could change the lore up a bit since they’ve been doing this.

Wildhammers were never druidic, they were shamanistic.
People really need to stop wanting druids for every race.

We could always use more dwarves.

They won’t be their own race. So Wildhammer druids won’t ever be a thing.
I love how DI got their own race, but not Wildhammers.
A Dwarf druid is what I need to play as druid
Flight form: griffin
Travel form: Ram
Feral form: Wolf
Moonkin form: A tiny moonkin with a big beard
Guardian form: A beard bear? xD

While the constant “wHy cAnT wE bE dRuIds” does sometimes miff me, they could be druids in the (non-canon) rpg and I think it would have been really interesting to connect the wildhammer belief of an afterlife in the sky, to G’Hanir in the Emerald Dream where flying creatures go after death. There’s at least a precedence.

I forgot they were doing skins. It’s such a small change with some major impact on immersion.
As for the OP - the Dwarves shouldn’t be restricted from any class.

In the RPG, the Wildhammer has Druids.
Wildhammer dwarves have close ties to nature. Many are shaman, and some are druids. A few Wildhammers revere the Holy Light, but the faith demands too much organization and philosophy for the comfort of most. Some Wildhammer dwarves in Kalimdor have also been studying with the night elves to learn more about Elune, the moon goddess.
Yes, I know the RPG is non-canon but Bashiok said this:
No. The RPG books were created to provide an engaging table-top role-playing experience, which sometimes required diverging from the established video game canon. Blizzard helped generate a great deal of the content within the RPG books, so there will be times when ideas from the RPG will make their way into the game and official lore, but you are much better off considering the RPG books non-canonical unless otherwise stated.

Nobody gets any more druids until Horde gets one druid-capable race that isn’t a gosh darn eyesore.

The Horde has perfect Druid races, you filthy Alliance

Cows and trolls. Look at your feet some time. Look at them.

I’m all for dwarf druids if blizzard actually decides to one day expand on race/class combos.

I don’t have feet. I have hooves and they’re beautiful.
A hoof is the tip of your gorgeous ungulate toe. The foot is still there.
I feel like we’re getting off topic.
Could we get a nice-looking Horde druid race please? I’m leveling a Highmountain and I can’t manage to hit kitty or lunarwing form fast enough to avoid temporarily glancing my hideousness.
At this point, if trolls can be druids, then sure why not.
I mean, did you really want to waste an Alliance race in yet another recolor with tatoos?
