Wondering what(if any) other wild pets are worth catching. So far I’ve got H/H Unborn Valkiry, P/P Yellow Moth, P/P Emperor Crab, P/P Nexus Whelp, Emerald Photo Whelp and generic Rabbit. Are there any others worth tracking down when boredom sets in?
This is Xu-Fu’s list of Most Used Pets. When you mouseover the names it’ll let you know their source:
Infinite whelping
Unfortunately I’m on my phone and would need to click on each pet to see the info. Appriciate it though. I’m familiar with the most used pets, just bored and looking for useful pets to catch.
No problem! The ones on the list that I don’t see mentioned above are:
Tier 2:
A snail
Nether Faerie Dragon
Chitterspine Skitterling
Kun-Lai Runt
Tier 3:
Infected Squirrel
Fel Flame
Scourged Whelpling
Squirky
Flayer Youngling
Electrified Razortooth
Minfernal
Tiny Twister
Cogblade Raptor
Eldritch Manafiend
Dream Whelpling
Blighthawk
Arcane Eye
Got 1x P/P. Maybe should go get 2 more though.
Yes. Flayer Youngling. Squirky. Kun-Lai Runt. All 3 Humanoid, all 3 Pet Battles.
The spider Broodlings. The Ravager Hatchling. The PP Widow Spiderling. The SS Rose Taipan. The Warpstalker, Voidstalker Runts and Hatchlings.
In a straight-up fight, the HH Emperor beats a PP Emperor, and can beat some Elementals that the PP Emperor loses to. (Scorch, in Revendreth)
The Gleamhoof Fawn. The Grasslands Cottontail. The Lava Crab. The Stormstruck Beaver. All these are Pet Battles.
The H/P breed in particular. Tons of other rabbits have the speed, but only this one has this much health and power combined. This was the only “rabbit” family pet that would work on a ‘Family’ strategy for Bredda in the Broken Isles.
Yes. I favor the SS breed. Powerful, and just fast enough.
Now, is there a brief summary why these are worth catching? I have a few mentioned, but none leveled so guess i hadn’t seen them as that useful. Just want to prioritize what might seem useful since i have 565 different pets and most of the top tier pets to compete with these wild captures.
S/S Leopard Tree Frogs from Jade Forest (most other frogs you can catch don’t have S/S breeds)
H/P or P/S Black Lambs from Elwynn Forest (the only capturable lamb in the game afaik, and a true Undead destroyer, and 1 for 1’s a lot of other pets too)
H/H or H/P Blighthawks from Eastern Plaguelands (or elsewhere) for when you want to be annoying with Cyclone and Consume Corpse
S/S Cogblade Raptors from Blade’s Edge Mountain for 341 speed, Batter, and Expose Wounds, plus mech racial
P/P Diemetradon Hatchlings from Un’Goro Crater, an extremely strong beast type with Quick Attack, Triple Snap, and Comeback (or other moves)
S/S AND H/P Faerie Dragons from Feralas, very versatile pet with very powerful moveset, from Life Exchange and Cyclone, to Evanescence and Moonfire, along with Arcane Blast plus dragon racial
H/H or H/P Fel Flames from Tanaan Jungle for the quintessential elemental pet with a Weather move, Conflagrate, and your choice in the 1st slot
S/S or P/S Fluxfire Felines from Gnomeregan, so that you can become depressed over how it was nerfed to the ground, meanwhile Iron Starlette was being created…
H/H or H/P Infested Bear Cubs from Hillsbrad Foothills, one of the biggest sacks of meat you can have, nice for leveling or capturing pets + corpse explosion is always useful
H/H or B/B Lost of Lordaeron in Tirisfal Glades, fantastic moveset with huge sustain and/or arcane explosions, and undead racial
H/H or P/P or H/P Minfernals from Felwood, besides how awesome they look, they also have a fantastic moveset as well
P/S Northern Hawk Owls from Highmountain, because they are always rare, only have one breed, and they have the almighty Call Darkness + Nocturnal Strike combo, with flying racial, a very strong and easy to acquire rare pet
P/P Spawn of Onyxias from Dustwallow Marsh, because it’s a 341 power dragon with access to a strong heal or weather, as well as lift off
Returned Hatchlings from Nazmir, your choice of breeds, being undead with access to both D&D and Bone barrage
S/S ROSE TAIPANS from Stormheim, capitalized for emphasis, get 3 of these, with 341 speed, blinding poison, crouch, and vicious fang (or other options), this pet is an absolute powerhouse, and can be had 100% for free
H/H Scourged Whelplings from Icecrown, undead, check, Call Darkness, Plagued Blood (or Dreadful Breath to counter that Cleansing Rain), and low speed with Tail Sweep, makes this an undeniable nightmare of a pet
H/P Ghostly Skulls from Dalaran, these aren’t captured rather bought for 40g, and I would highly recommend getting them if you haven’t already
S/S Specimen 97s from Mechagon, simply fantastic mech pet with everything you could want, honestly, just see for yourself
P/P Twilight Spiders from Twilight Highlands, Sticky Web followed by Spiderling Swarm coming off of 341 power (and possibly beast racial) can’t be denied
H/P Twilight Whelplings from Twilight Highlands, these things are like nuclear warheads
P/B Waterflys from Shadowmoon Valley, a flying pet with Dodge, a big heal, and Alpha Strike, what more could you want besides an un-nerfed Teroclaw Hatchling? Well, this is the next best thing, and it performs just as well
S/S Nordrassil Wisps, from Mount Hyjal, these are like magic rabbits, with 357 speed, Light, Flash, and Arcane Explosion, a very useful and annoying pet to face
Wow, thanks for the breakdown. Appriciate the time to post.
I am too lazy to do what Grandmamama did.
But- if you consult Warcraft Pets using the pet names I listed, you will have your summary. I sorta thought you could call up these pets in your Journal and see maybe why I listed them. Use a PP Gleamhoof Fawn, and a HH Lava Crab. Good luck pet hunting!
I’ve been working off this list which has a lot of capturable pets compared to other lists I’ve worked from.
