WiFi 6 performance

Seems WiFi AX200 6 is for real.

Just received my new computer, with built in Wifi. Tested it.

What is interesting I actually get LOWER latency than I do on my LAN card… which is a 2.5 MB NIC…

And when I am playing I honestly cannot tell if I am on LAN or WiFi. I was expecting noticeable difference… RAID, Dungeon, Torghast, everything… it’s as if I didn’t switch.

Also did a speed test my LAN I am getting about 872 Mbps… on Wifi it’s only about 50 Mbps less… same ping.

Did speed test like 30 times (I am sure Comcast if they are watching is like WTH is this guy doing… ) back and fourth different times a day, before and after reboot, and I have not tweaked or modified any WiFi or LAN settings after installing fresh Windows the first time I installed on new hardware.

So if you are looking for WiFi or perhaps many are already there… the performance is great… can’t really see a difference.

This is with Comcast CGM4331COM \ XB7 gateway as well, not using consumer or aftermarket WiFi router…

I upgraded to it because it came on my new motherboard, but at this point, I’m still bottlenecked by my old DOCSIS 3 modem at around 280mb/s.

One day I’ll upgrade it.

The ethernet on all of my current machines is Intel 1GB or Intel 10GB both of which are excellent (Intel ethernet is great) so I’m not seeing a major benefit in terms of latency, but now two are equipped with AX200 and one with AX201 and both wifi and bluetooth on these machines has been super super solid, far better than the Broadcom and Atheros cards they replaced. Don’t have a wifi 6 router to take full advantage, but still.
