Widescreen UI - Suggestions?

So I recently splurged (yay Christmas!) on an ultra-wide monitor. It looks great! But… what it does to WoW’s UI is not pretty.

Other than MoveAnything (which I’ve used before when dabbling with mock-ultra-wide with the three monitors I replaced), anyone have any suggestions on how to best smooth this arrangement out?

I’m guessing you’re using the default UI for the most part.

I suggest these:

  1. Bartender4. Bartender4 lets a user adjust size, position, rows and colums of action bars, and can be used to adjust the menu bar, rest/rep bar, bag bar, et cetera. With bartender4 a user can have an element moved to a particular portion of the screen, and only shown on mouseover (great for the menu bar, or exp bar). Elements can also be shown or hidden if a modifier key is pressed.

  2. Shadowed Unit Frames: SUF lets a user move, resize, and otherwise adjust every health/power bar, or hide them.

  3. Sexymap: Sexymap lets a user move, resize, and reshape the minimap. Maybe your your ultra-wide monitor you could make it HUGE and off to one side.

  4. Glass: Glass makes a user’s chat look way better and requires minimal time to adjust/customize.

  5. Quartz: Quartz lets a user adjust the cast bar, and can make it function as a swing-timer.

  6. Dynamic Cam: Dynamic cam lets a user adjust the field of view so that their character appears lower on the screen, that way more of the environment will be shown. It also lets a user set different zooms for different situations, if desired. I’m only recommending it for the first field of view option, I haven’t played around with situational adjustment because that seems like it would be time-consuming to get just right.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was already using a few of these, but I’ll take a look here.

A super enlarged SexyMap (again, one of the ones I was using) might actually be a good idea as MoveAnything doesn’t handle moving the Quest/Main map well. Maybe it’s a mod-conflict, but when I do, the option to Zoom In is apparently on another frame, and what it does to full screen view is awful.

ElvUI has different setups for different resolutions and will replace the need for most of the addons in Barty’s list.
