Hello there! I’m playing on a kinda older potato, gtx 1060 6gb, 16gb ram and noticed a maaaasive fps drop with DF prepatch, I was running with everything Maxed but view distance (at 7) and shadows, one setting lower with no problem, mostlty 60 fps in the open, 30 fps on raids with lots of spells flying
any recommendations? thx!
It’s mostly on their end. There’s a wide spread issue with fps drops and stuttering they’re working on apparently. When they fix that, you’ll see improvements. But going forward, you should look into a gpu upgrade. DF is definitely more graphics intensive. You’ll find your 1060 doesn’t go as far performance wise at max. I wouldn’t say a 1060 is a potato though. I had one up until last year and it was pretty good value for cost and performance in wow
Never a bad idea to try a UI reset after a major patch like this. Out of date addons and those old saved settings can certainly tank your fps. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7549
If you follow the instructions and just re-name the folders, then if the reset doesn’t really help much then you can delete the new folders and name the old ones back to restore your UI.
