I heard Blizzcon 2022, got cancelled
does anyone know what happened because i’m at a loss for answers beyond hypotheticals.
I can see them cancelling due to covid, but maybe also getting embarassed by the crowd for the gender/race stuff.
Does anyone have any sure answers of this though?

This is all we know for certain:
Anything else is our assumption and projection of our feelings around what’s been happening.

Theyre going to change the format thats all.
In short theres no way they’ll hold blizzcon while the company is on Trial.

The current climate isn’t good for a large event like that. Blizzard’s reputation is tarnished.

Probably just not a lot to talk about
Rather glad because trying to listen to the WoW stuff while that one woman’s lips kept smacking nearly drove me bonkers because of my misophonia.
I’m sure she’s a nice lady. Misophonia does not care in this instance.

Regardless of official explanations, they’re hiding.

I doubt that was really a concern for BlizzcONLINE '22. (There wasn’t going to be a crowd)
Like Rhielle said, we only have thier statement to go off of
“Guys our image is in tatters, our players are leaving in droves , California may ask us to leave, and we have 83 lawsuits pending…what should we do”
Melvin from the back row: “Lets have a party!”

They’ve canceled Blizzcon before. They probably just do not have anything to show off in a big event.

Cause blizz devs aren’t capable of keeping their hands to themselves.

Imagine if they combined it with Activision stuff.
I think their official explanation makes sense. They’re obviously behind on game development. Blizzcon in this state is quite really a huge waste of time and resources.
But as they said they’re still going to announce and talk about future things. So it shouldn’t be a major difference.

I’d imagine they decided they have more important things to work on.
Cancellation is for the best really. They don’t really have anything to announce. Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV are delayed. We probably won’t see them before 2023 at the earliest. WOW is in a shambles. Most of their other games have been killed. I guess they could announce new card packs for Hearthstone.
Maybe by 3rd Quarter 2022, they will have something new to announce.

It makes no sense to have a Blizzcon celebrating everything Blizzard during a time like this. We’ve had literal Blizzcons before where they announced just the Necromancer for D3 and a Hearthstone Expansion with nothing else.

I don’t have any inside info but I imagine this is 99% of it.
